Strengths
Ideal frame for a lean and athletic defensive lineman. High upside as an interior pass rusher. Clear athleticism based on how he moves. Very good acceleration. Hands are extremely powerful. Initial pop can jolt offensive linemen. Flashes an array of inside moves with rips, swipes, and swims. Very effective gather bull rush move. Possesses slipperiness at his size to get past blockers. Great relentlessness as a pass rusher. Will contort his body and spin to get free. Has the strength to push back interior linemen. Able to throw opponents off him to disengage. Exceptional range as a tackler. Very light on his feet to finish around the quarterback. Plus play recognition and instincts. Tremendous overall pursuit. Hustles all over to chase the ball. Has experience lining up all along the defensive front. Can be a five-technique on early downs.
Weaknesses
Side-to-side change-of-direction skills are just OK. Power is less effective when unable to get two hands on an opponent. Could have more trouble versus NFL size and power due to leverage issues at his height. Inconsistent holding ground against double teams. Didn’t start and didn’t see a lot of playing time in 2021 opener.

Conclusion
Overall, Hall is a tall, athletic defensive lineman with enough tools to mold into a potential impact player at the next level. His best fit would be as a 3-4 defensive end or 4-3 defensive tackle that should only be considered as a power edge for heavier personnel groupings.
DL is exceptional this year.
