Strengths
Great length and good overall size. Very fluid mover with bouncy athleticism. High motor as a pass rusher. Hands are quick and effective. Light feet with the ability to win inside or outside. Excellent bend on the speed rush. Effective rip move. Flashes power on inside moves. Goes at outside shoulder of offensive tackle before attacking inside. Good power to push the pocket. Swipes are strong as both a pass-rush move and finisher. Fast closing on the quarterback. Reliable tackler. Very effective setting the edge and playing the run on the edge. Extends to lock out blockers and is quick to disengage for a tackle. Strikes can jar blockers to create space. Knows when to crash or stay at home as a backside run defender. Quick and physical crashing down. Very good chase down speed. Tremendous pursuit and hustle. Played as a stand-up rusher and with his hand in the dirt. Can shade inside on offensive tackles as a four-technique. Experience on both sides of the formation. Looks very comfortable when used to drop in coverage. Excellent downfield hustle. Great leaping ability with multiple blocks on short field goal attempts. Saw him get banged up a few times and always stay in the following play.
Weaknesses
More fluid/smooth than twitchy/explosive. Average change-of-direction skills as more of a straight-line athlete. Has some general issues with balance. Doesn’t do a great job dealing with cut blocks. Can add some strength and will be pushed back when blockers get inside his frame.

Conclusion
Overall, Ebiketie is a long, fluid edge defender with great bend and proven production in one season at Penn State. He should be able to thrive in either a 3-4 or 4-3 defense at the next level.
