Great between-the-tackles runner. Ideal size and strength for the next level. Very good feet for a power back. No-nonsense running style. Lowers his shoulder into contact. Very difficult to bring down. Will carry defenders and routinely fall forward when tackled. Churns his legs to keep moving through contact. Sheds arm tackles with ease. Exceptional overall vision as a runner. Sees a cutback lane and hits it. Very good burst when he puts his foot in the ground. Impressive shuffle cut ability. Excellent feel for pacing with great patience to allow things to develop. Will break an early tackle and immediately get himself on track for a chunk gain. Tremendous feel for making cuts in the open field. Powerful stiff arm. Very effective goal-line back. Tries to get what he can when faced with backfield penetration. Often got the better of NFL-caliber tacklers. Ball security shouldn’t be an issue. Solid hands for a power runner. Willing to stand in and make a block in pass protection. Waited his turn at Alabama before becoming workhorse in final season.

Had some double catches. Not a complex route runner. Sub-par vision in pass protection.

NFL comparison

Ryan Mathews

Overall, Robinson Jr. is a throwback, one-cut runner with excellent power and vision that can set the tone for an offense. He should be a strong Day 2 option as one of the most underrated players in the entire class.
