Slashing runner with tremendous patience. Terrific vision and instincts. Rare peripheral vision to see the entire field and feel how a play is developing at the second level. Natural feel for not running himself into danger. Always seems to find the hole and doesn’t hesitate to hit it. Excellent feet and stop-start ability. Great acceleration. Above-average speed. Makes quick cuts and seamlessly strings them together. Exceptional finding a lane on outside zone runs. Suddenly cuts up perimeter runs and will make defenders overrun/miss. Tremendous juke move. Extremely deceptive/elusive in space. Can brush off low tackles and keep moving. Flashes physicality finishing runs to get what he can. Powerful stiff arm. Very smooth catching the ball. Able to run complex routes. Dangerous on wheel routes and comfortable catching downfield. Tough to cover on angle routes and option routes. Great in pass protection. Very strong chipping defensive ends. Good effort when used as a lead blocker. Seemed to have extra competitive juice in upset win over Alabama (2021).

Covers up in traffic but ball security was an issue throughout career. Will have the occasional drop.

Overall, Spiller is a natural runner with tremendous vision, patience, and instincts in addition to a complete skillset in the passing game. He has a case to be the top running back off the board and is worth first-round consideration despite a deep class for the position.
