WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Auden Tate | Falcons WR

The Falcons signed Auden Tate.

Tate pretty much fell out of the rotation in Cincinnati, but he had 40 receptions for 575 yards and a touchdown back in 2019 and is an intriguing addition for a Falcons team in need of more pieces at wide receiver. The six-foot-five target should have a shot to win a starting role on the outside in Arthur Smith's offense in 2022.

Auden Tate | Falcons WR

Auden Tate (shoulder) is expected to be out four-to-six months.

Tate was dealing with a torn labrum, and he had surgery this morning done by the well-known Dr. James Andrews. The big receiver might miss offseason training, but he's expected to be ready for the start of training camp in summer 2021.

Auden Tate | Falcons WR

The Bengals are placing Auden Tate (shoulder) on injured reserve.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero says Tate will undergo shoulder surgery in the coming weeks, so it sounds like his season is over. Tate's year ends with 14 receptions for 150 yards in nine games, but he was not happy with his playing time after going for a 40/575/1 line in a mini breakout year when given the opportunity in his second NFL season in 2019. Tate remains under contract with the Bengals for next season, but he's a definite trade candidate if his role won't increase.

Auden Tate | Falcons WR

Auden Tate has been removed from the reserve/COVID-19 list.

The big receiver had enough negative tests and will rejoin his team ahead of tomorrow's game against the Giants. It's difficult to trust Tate as a fantasy option at the moment given the depth of the Bengals receiving corps.

Auden Tate | Falcons WR

The Bengals placed Auden Tate on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

This could just mean Tate was a close contact to someone with COVID-19, but either way it might be difficult for the big receiver to play this Sunday against the Giants. Tate needs to now have negative tests before he can return.

Auden Tate | Falcons WR

The Bengals placed Auden Tate (knee) on injured reserve.

This tends to be the case for injuries sustained this late in the season for non-contending teams. Tate's strong second season ends with 40 receptions for 575 yards and one touchdown in 12 games, and the Florida State product has shown he can be a solid contributor on offense for Cincinnati. If A.J. Green were to leave the Bengals this offseason, Tate would likely be slotted in as a clear starting receiver in Zac Taylor's offense.

Auden Tate | Falcons WR

Auden Tate (knee) is officially doubtful to return for the Bengals.

Tate was injured on his lone reception against the Browns, a 16-yarder in the third quarter. The big receiver is unlikely to return today, but hopefully his knee injury isn't too serious that it costs him to miss much more time.

Auden Tate | Falcons WR

Auden Tate (concussion) is officially active for the Bengals.

Tate was just carted off the field with a concussion and neck injury just a week ago, so it's great to see that he's already been cleared and is able to play for the Bengals. The Florida State product will continue getting a good amount of playing time on the outside for Cincinnati.

Auden Tate | Falcons WR

Auden Tate (concussion) is officially questionable for Week 12.

Tate was able to participate in today’s practice on a limited basis, and he has a shot to play on Sunday against the Steelers. Check back in at 11:30 AM ET on gameday for Tate’s official status.

Auden Tate | Falcons WR

Auden Tate (concussion) officially did not practice today.

Tate is dealing with a neck issue in addition to his concussion, and it seems unlikely that he'd play this Sunday after getting carted off the field last week. Hopefully Tate is feeling better soon. We'll update you if he happens to hit the practice field in some capacity tomorrow.

Auden Tate | Falcons WR

Auden Tate gets carted off after hit to the head.

Tate unfortunately took a shoulder to the head and had his neck twisted very badly on a key third-down reception. The Florida State product appeared to move and try to get up at first, but then he stayed on the ground after trainers came out. Tate is being carted off on a stretcher, so hopefully this is just a precaution and nothing too serious. Before leaving, Tate caught four passes for 56 yards.

Auden Tate | Falcons WR

Auden Tate catches one pass in Week 17 loss.

It went for 15 yards. Tate, who caught four passes for 35 yards as a rookie, will be a high-upside project that isn't assured a roster spot in 2019. Fantasy owners should only keep tabs on him in dynasty leagues.

Auden Tate | Falcons WR

Auden Tate catches two passes in Week 12.

Tate gained 15 yards on his two receptions. The big rookie receiver was targeted on a pass to the end zone but couldn't come up with it. Tate is just a dynasty-league option for now.

Auden Tate | Falcons WR

Auden Tate held to one reception in Week 11 loss.

It was a five-yard catch on his only target of the game. Tate has the talent to make an impact, but he looks like nothing more than a dynasty prospect at this point.

Auden Tate | Falcons WR

The Bengals promoted Auden Tate from the practice squad.

This might not be good news for A.J. Green's status as he awaits word on the extent of his toe injury. Tate would not be a recommended fantasy option if Green misses time, but he's someone to keep an eye on particularly in dynasty leagues.

Auden Tate | Falcons WR

The Bengals have released rookie receiver Auden Tate.

A seventh-round pick out of Florida State, the big-bodied receiver showed enough to stick around with Cincinnati out of camp, but a couple long receptions in the preseason weren't enough to earn him an appearance in the regular season, and he's now being released. Tate shouldn't take long to resurface.

Auden Tate | Falcons WR

The Bengals have selected Florida State wide receiver Auden Tate with the 253rd pick of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Tate is a raw, big-bodied wideout that could turn into a force in the red zone. However, his natural receiving skills are a question mark, the biggest of which might be his ability to track the ball. Tate likely needs to show something in camp to earn a roster spot, but he’s worth taking at look at for dynasty owners.
