WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon Lafell tore his Achilles, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

This was the fear when Lafell left today's win against the Cardinals, and the veteran receiver's season is now over. Lafell had stepped up today in a receiving corps that's been hit with injuries (and traded Amari Cooper earlier in the season), so this is a big loss. Lafell's season ends with 12 receptions for 135 yards and two touchdowns in six games with the Raiders. He's 32, but Lafell should draw interest around the league this offseason as a big-bodied and experienced receiver; the Raiders might be interested in bringing him back after he played well for them. We wish him luck on his recovery.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon Lafell (Achilles) is out for the rest of today's game.

Lafell was injured earlier in the game on a nice back-shoulder high-point catch, but he limped over to the sideline and appeared to be concerned about the injury. Before leaving, Lafell stepped up with Jordy Nelson and Martavis Bryant out, catching two passes for 29 yards and a touchdown. Hopefully this isn't a ruptured Achilles, but more information should become available within the next 24 hours.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon LaFell caught four passes for 47 yards in Sunday's loss to the Chargers.

LaFell has looked like Oakland's No. 1 receiver over the past couple weeks, but he doesn't carry a ton of upside for the 1-8 squad. Fantasy owners are probably best looking elsewhere heading into a matchup with the Cardinals.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon LaFell caught three passes for 20 yards in Oakland's loss the the 49ers.

LaFell has been a reliable target over the past two weeks, but he isn't worth seriously considering outside of deeper leagues on one of the worst offenses in football. The veteran will look to make an impact next week against the Chargers.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon LaFell makes first impact as a Raider in loss to Indianapolis.

LaFell caught three passes for 39 yards, including a six-yard touchdown. The veteran hadn't caught a pass in two previous appearances this season, but the trade of Amari Cooper opened up playing time for everyone behind Jordy Nelson on the depth chart. LaFell isn't a recommended fantasy option, but he should make some plays for the Raiders.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon Lafell doesn't catch a pass in Week 3.

Lafell was active for the Raiders for the first time, but he wasn't a huge part of the offense. The veteran receiver is just someone to keep an eye on, and he's unlikely to deliver much fantasy value as long as Martavis Bryant remains unsuspended.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon Lafell (back) was a full participant in practice.

Lafell was limited yesterday, but he's fine to play Sunday against the Broncos. However, there's a chance Lafell remains inactive as he continues to learn Jon Gruden's offense. Lafell would not be a recommended fantasy option if he's active.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon Lafell (back) was limited in today's practice.

The veteran receiver did not play on Monday night against the Rams, as he's still getting the hang of Jon Gruden's offense. Especially after the addition of Martavis Bryant, Lafell isn't a recommended fantasy bench hold.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon Lafell is inactive for Week 1.

Lafell is trying to catch up and pick up Jon Gruden's offense, so this isn't a surprise. Lafell will attempt to work his way into a role on offense for Oakland, but he's not recommended hold on fantasy benches at the moment.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

The Raiders are signing Brandon Lafell, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Granted a release by the Bengals during training camp, Lafell remained patient and lands in a good spot in Oakland with the Raiders. With no Martavis Bryant in the mix, Lafell will have a chance to compete for solid playing time behind Amari Cooper and Jordy Nelson. Lafell is not a recommended pickup in standard-sized leagues at the moment, but he's someone to keep an eye on.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

The Bengals are releasing wide receiver Brandon LaFell.

Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said recently the team's young receivers, who have gotten rave reviews this summer, were pushing LaFell. According to Mike Garafolo, LaFell's agent Jonathan Feinsod says they have been "lobbying for his release for some time and appreciate the Bengals granting our request." With LaFell gone, this opens it up for second-year receiver John Ross to start opposite A.J. Green, though Josh Malone should also have a bigger role, and Tyler Boyd is probably locked into the slot. It's possible LaFell ends up back in New England with the Patriots, who he won a Super Bowl with a few years ago.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon Lafell catches two passes against Baltimore.

Lafell gained 35 yards on his two receptions. His regular season ends with 52 receptions for 548 yards and three touchdowns. The Bengals can get out of the deal for 2018, but Lafell is a solid number two option across from A.J. Green, so we'll see what happens.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon LaFell contained in Week 16 win.

LaFell caught four passes, but was held to just eight yards. The veteran receiver won't be a recommended fantasy option in Week 17 against the Ravens.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon LaFell caught two passes for 53 yards in Sunday's loss to Minnesota.

LaFell's 45-yard reception was basically the only offense of the entire game for the Bengals, as they were blown out 34-7. He gets a better matchup on Christmas Eve against Detroit, but it's difficult to trust anyone besides A.J. Green over the final two weeks for the disappointing Cincinnati squad.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon Lafell scores in Week 14.

Lafell caught a first-quarter touchdown on an out-breaking route where he effortlessly drug his feet in the end zone to remain in bounds. Overall, he had three receptions for 24 yards and a touchdown. Lafell is a very good real-life contributor to his team, but it's difficult to trust him in fantasy lineups most weeks.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon Lafell gets seven targets against Pittsburgh.

Lafell caught four passes for 55 yards in the Week 13 loss, and he had a long of 27 yards in the game. The veteran receiver did have an uncharacteristic drop late in the game, and it snapped what was the current longest streak in the NFL without a drop. Lafell is a very good part of the offense for the Bengals, but he's not a recommended fantasy option right now.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon LaFell caught three passes for 33 yards in Sunday's win.

LaFell has caught a pass in every game this season, and he continues to operate as the starter opposite A.J. Green. He'll look to find the end zone against Pittsburgh next Monday night like he did in their October meeting. Still, he's just a FLEX option in deeper leagues.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon Lafell catches three passes in Week 11.

Lafell was targeted five times against the Broncos, gaining 37 yards on his three receptions, with a long of 29 yards on a deep over route. Lafell remains a key part of the passing attack for the Bengals, but he's not a highly-reccomended fantasy option right now.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon Lafell gets ten targets against the Titans.

Lafell has his best game of the season so far in this one, catching six passes for 95 yards and a touchdown in the loss. The score came early in the game on a 37-yard deep post from the slot where Lafell basically got wide open. Lafell is a reliable player for Andy Dalton and the Bengals, but he's a low-floor fantasy option against the Broncos next week.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon Lafell gets two targets in Week 9.

Lafell caught both targets, gaining 28 yards versus the Jaguars. In Week 10, Lafell would likely get a bump if A.J. Green is suspended for basically beating up Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey, so we'll see if anything happen regarding that.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon Lafell catches four passes in Week 8.

Lafell was targeted five times against the Colts, gaining 44 yards on his four receptions. The offense of the Bengals isn't good enough that Lafell is a reliable fantasy option, though he's a good player and good contributor for his team. He'll have some good games, but next week against the Jags is not the week to insert him into your lineup.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon Lafell catches first touchdown of the season.

Lafell was a big part of the early success for the Bengals, but the score was what gave him a productive fantasy day. He received a team-high seven targets in the loss to Pittsburgh, catching four passes for 28 yards and the touchdown, which came on a pass to the end zone on an in-breaking route where Andy Dalton zipped a throw right to Lafell's chest. He does have a low floor, but Lafell has some upside against the Colts in Week 8.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon Lafell gets three targets in Week 5.

Lafell caught two of the three targets for 17 yards in the game. He'll have some good weeks this season and is a contributor to the Bengals, but Lafell is not a fantasy option right now.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon LaFell held to one catch in loss to the Packers.

It was a five-yard reception, as besides A.J. Green, no receiver had more than one catch with the team featuring Green and running back Joe Mixon. LaFell makes some plays for Cincinnati, but he's not a reliable fantasy option. The Bengals face the Browns in Week 4.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon Lafell catches four passes for 30 yards in Week 2.

Cincinnati's number two receiver was targeted seven times, second behind A.J. Green. He's more of a real-life contributor than he is a fantasy contributor at the moment.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon Lafell catches three passes in Week 1.

Lafell had 24 yards on his three receptions (five targets). The Bengals play the Texans, who Lafell scored an 86-yard touchdown on a catch-and-run slant last Christmas Eve, on Thursday night.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon Lafell catches two passes for 13 yards in Bengals' third preseason game.

Lafell drew three targets from Andy Dalton. He's still a starter opposite A.J. Green and will be a contributor to the Bengals, but it'd be a surprise if he delivered consistent fantasy value with so many other weapons in the offense.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon Lafell catches one pass in preseason opener.

His reception went for 13 yards. There are some good young players in the Bengals receiving group, but Lafell is locked in as the number two opposite A.J. Green. He should deliver some solid fantasy weeks in 2017.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

The Bengals re-signed WR Brandon Lafell, according to his agents.

The Bengals keep their number two wide receiver alongside A.J. Green. Lafell was productive for the Bengals last season and isn't a bad option at the end of 2017 fantasy drafts. Lafell had over 60 receptions, over 850 yards, and six touchdowns last season.

Brandon LaFell had seven catches for 67 yards in Sunday's win over the Ravens.

LaFell led the team with 11 targets on Sunday, and will finish the season with a solid 64/862/6 receiving line. It's unclear if LaFell is interested in re-signing with the Bengals as a free agent, but the veteran should have a solid role somewhere after a strong 2016-2017 season.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon Lafell take slant 86 yards to the house against the Texans.

Lafell had six catches for 130 yards and a touchdown for the Bengals. His biggest play was a slant on the left side from Andy Dalton from the 14-yard line, which Lafell caught in stride and outran the defense down the right side of the field. Assuming A.J. Green is out again in Week 17, Lafell will be a FLEX option against the Ravens.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon LaFell the only means of moving the ball on Sunday.

LaFell caught seven passes for 91 yards on a team-high nine targets. He had a huge share of the yardage for Cincinnati, as Andy Dalton threw for just 157 yards; the second highest receiving total was 18 yards from Rex Burkhead. With A.J. Green (hamstring) expected back for Christmas Eve against the Texans, LaFell will be the #2 receiver for the Bengals. There are better fantasy options.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon LaFell caught three passes for 22 yards in the Bengals' win over the Browns.

LaFell didn't do much on Sunday, but he still tied for the team-lead in targets. The veteran receiver will be a decent FLEX for Week 15 against the Steelers.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon Lafell has great day against the Eagles.

Lafell had five catches for 95 yards and a touchdown. His touchdown was in the redzone when he got behind the safety and Andy Dalton lofted it perfectly over the defense for an easy score. Lafell had his way with the Eagles' outmatched corners. Lafell had 14 fantasy points against the Browns in Week 7, and will be a good WR2/FLEX option against them this week.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

LaFell catches just three passes for 38 yards in first game without A.J. Green.

The veteran has a chance at a bigger role for however long Green is out, but it didn't amount to much for Week 12. The Bengals play the Eagles next week, so he has a chance to redeem himself at home in a good matchup.

Brandon LaFell | Free Agent WR

Brandon LaFell caught four passes for 32 yards as the Bills defeated the Bengals on Sunday.

LaFell should see more targets with A.J. Green (hamstring) looking done for the year, but rookie Tyler Boyd is the preferred pickup for the rest of the season. Still, LaFell is definitely a worth a waiver wire claim this week and could eventually push for WR2 value.
