WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Chase Claypool | Steelers WR

Chase Claypool (toe) considered week-to-week.

It turns out the toe injury suffered by Claypool late in Monday night's win over the Bears is relatively serious, but NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says it's not a season-ender and that the second-year receiver is considered week-to-week. Claypool might miss some time, but we'll see how he's listed on the Week 10 injury report when it's released on Friday.

Chase Claypool is off the injury report for Week 5.

Claypool was able to practice fully to close out the week, so he's good to go against the Broncos as Pittsburgh hopes to get their offense on track. Consider the big-play threat an upside FLEX, especially with James Washington (groin) out.

Chase Claypool (hamstring) has been ruled out for tomorrow.

Claypool presumably is not making the trip to Green Bay for tomorrow's Week 4 game against the Packers. This isn't a surprise after the hamstring issue popped up during the week, but at least Pittsburgh gets Diontae Johnson (knee) back in the lineup after he missed last Sunday.

Chase Claypool (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Week 4.

Claypool was limited in yesterday's practice and did not participate today, so things aren't looking great going into the weekend. The good news for the Steelers is that JuJu Smith-Schuster (rib) and Diontae Johnson (knee) are ready to go against the Packers on Sunday.

The Steelers have selected Notre Dame wide receiver Chase Claypool with the No. 49 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Claypool is a very athletic receiver with tremendous size at six-foot-four, 238 pounds. Our comparison for him was Darren Waller based on how he can be utilized as a receiver, and Claypool will also make a significant impact on special teams covering punts and kicks. Considering how well Pittsburgh historically drafts receivers, them selecting him in the top 50 is probably a good sign. For now, the Notre Dame product is more of a fantasy stash as a better real-life value for Steelers, but the upside is great if you can wait.
