WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Cody Core | Giants WR

The Giants placed Cody Core (Achilles) on injured reserve.

Unfortunately, Core tore his Achilles late in yesterday's practice, and his season is over. Core was a key special teams player for the Giants last season, so the team will need other reserve players to help pick up the slack. We wish Core the best on his recovery.

Cody Core | Giants WR

The Giants are re-signing Cody Core, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Core's name fits a role he plays really well, as he is a core special teams player that new Giants head coach Joe Judge wanted to keep around. Core can also contribute at receiver on offense, but he's not currently on the radar in most fantasy leagues.

Cody Core | Giants WR

The Giants claimed Cody Core.

Core was recently waived by the Bengals, and he can contribute on both offense and special teams. With the Giants dealing with injury and suspension (Golden Tate) in their receiving corps, it's possible Core gets playing time in Week 1 against the Cowboys.

Cody Core | Giants WR

The Bengals are cutting Cody Core.

Core has spent his first three years in the NFL with the Bengals after being selected in the sixth round in 2016, and he did a nice job on offense when called upon. Core can also contribute on special teams, and he shouldn't have trouble finding a new team soon.

Cody Core | Giants WR

Cody Core leaves game with apparent left arm injury.

Core had his arm immediately put in an arm cast after an ugly injury, so his day is obviously done. Hopefully the injury isn't too serious so that Core feels better soon and can get back to 100% for offseason training. Core's season ends with 13 receptions for 160 yards and one touchdown. He's a bette areal-life contributor than fantasy asset heading into the offseason.

Cody Core | Giants WR

Cody Core caught two passes for 36 yards in Sunday's loss to the Browns.

Core was targeted just three times as the Bengals threw it more than they ran it, but he will continue to operate as a starter for the season finale against Pittsburgh. Still, fantasy owners playing for a title should look elsewhere.

Cody Core | Giants WR

Cody Core catches one pass against the Raiders.

Core gained ten yards on his lone reception in the Bengals' Week 15 win. Core might step up as Jeff Driskel's preferred option with Tyler Boyd (knee) likely to miss at least Week 16, but he isn't a highly-recommended pickup-and-play in the fantasy playoffs.

Cody Core | Giants WR

Cody Core caught three passes for 30 yards in Sunday's loss to the Chargers.

Core was a factor behind Tyler Boyd, but fantasy owner should look elsewhere down the stretch. Cincinnati takes on Oakland in Week 15.

Cody Core | Giants WR

Cody Core scores first career touchdown in Bengals' loss.

Core caught a 30-yard touchdown from Jeff Driskel for the first of his NFL career. It was his lone reception for the game. Congrats to the Core on his first NFL score, and hopefully it gets him on a roll moving forward.

Cody Core | Giants WR

Cody Core catches one pass in Bengals' loss.

Core gained seven yards on his lone reception versus the Browns. Core's role isn't big enough to deliver reliable fantasy value at the moment.

Cody Core | Giants WR

Cody Core targeted twice in Week 11 loss.

He didn't catch either of his looks. Core won't be a recommended fantasy option next week against the Browns.

Cody Core | Giants WR

Cody Core catches both targets in Week 10.

Core gained 17 yards on his two receptions versus the Saints. Core might be set to benefit with the most playing time with A.J. Green (toe) out, but he's not a recommended fantasy option right now.

Cody Core | Giants WR

Cody Core makes first box-score appearance of the season in Week 7 loss.

Seeing extended playing time in the fourth quarter with the Bengals down 35 points, Core caught three-of-three targets for 30 yards. The former sixth-round pick isn't a recommended fantasy option heading into a matchup with the Bucs.

Cody Core | Giants WR

Cody Core (back) is inactive against the Bengals.

This was expected as Core was listed as doubtful for the game after he also missed Week 1. Hopefully Core can get back on the field soon.

Cody Core | Giants WR

Cody Core catches one pass in preseason Week 1.

Core ran an in-breaking route in the second quarter and quarterback A.J. McCarron threw an accurate pass for Core to come down with. The Bengals are deep and talented at receiver, so Core is probably battling for a roster spot.

Cody Core caught four passes for 82 yards in Sunday's win.

After leading the team in targets on Christmas Eve, Core led the team in receiving yards to end the year. Core ends his rookie campaign with 17 catches for 200 yards. He could be looking at a role behind A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd to begin 2017, but Core won't be a fantasy option to start the season.

Cody Core | Giants WR

Cody Core leads the Bengals in Week 16 targets.

Core caught 8-of-14 targets for 39 yards against the Texans. He's not a reliable fantasy option, but the sixth round rookie may be able to carve out a 2017 role for the Bengals.
