The Packers have released Corey Grant.
Green Bay just signed Grant a couple of weeks ago, but they're going in a different direction in a crowded running back group. However, Grant shouldn't have much trouble getting more interest around the league as someone that can contribute on both offense and special teams.
The Packers signed Corey Grant.
It's surprising that it took Grant this long to find a team, but he should be 100% recovered from last season's Lisfranc injury, and he's a strong addition to Green Bay's backfield. Grant is an explosive player that made the most of his opportunities on offense with the Jaguars in his first four NFL seasons, and he's also an excellent special teams contributor. Grant isn't on the fantasy radar quite yet, but he's someone to keep in mind.
Corey Grant suffered a season-ending Lisfranc injury, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
This was the fear earlier today, and Grant will be placed on injured reserve in the coming days. Jacksonville takes a hit on both offense and special teams with the loss of Grant, and they'll almost certainly have to look for another running back with Leonard Fournette (hamstring) expected to miss more time. Grant's season ends with 13 carries for 40 yards and nine receptions for 67 yards.
The Jaguars believe Corey Grant suffered a Lisfranc injury, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Grant was carted to the locker room during today's loss to the Chiefs, so it looked like a serious injury. If it is a Lisfranc injury for Grant, his season would likely be over; but whatever it is looks likely to at least be a multi-week injury. With Leonard Fournette still battling a hamstring injury, Jacksonville is probably in need of some running back help.
Corey Grant (ankle) has been ruled out against the Chiefs.
Grant went to the locker room on a cart, so this might be a serious injury for the explosive back. Before leaving, Grant had one carry for eight yards. T.J. Yeldon is handling almost all the backfield work in today's game.
Corey Grant (foot) is questionable to return against the Chiefs.
While he's being called questionable, Grant is being taken to the locker room on a cart, so it unfortunately doesn't look good. However, we'll update you as more information becomes available.
Corey Grant gets three touches against the Jets.
Grant had one carry for five yards and two receptions for 12 yards in the Week 4 win. Grant simply isn't getting enough touches to be a reliable fantasy option, even with Leonard Fournette continuing to deal with hamstring issues.
Corey Grant gets seven touches in Week 3.
Grant had six carries for 11 yards and one reception for -1 yard against the Titans. The Jaguars couldn't get much going offensively, Grant included. Even if Leonard Fournette (hamstring) remains out next week, it'll be difficult to trust Grant in fantasy lineups.
Corey Grant handles ten touches in win over the Patriots.
Grant rushed four times for 13 yards and caught six passes for 56 yards. The dynamic backup saw extended run with Leonard Fournette (hamstring) on the shelf, and he took advantage as a dangerous outlet receiver for Blake Bortles. Grant would be worth a look in all leagues based on his big-play ability if Fournette misses another game, but we'd bet on him suiting up against Tennessee.
Corey Grant gets one carry in Jags' win.
Grant gained three yards on his lone carry, and he didn't receive more touches despite Leonard Fournette leaving the game with a hamstring injury. Grant had three receptions for 59 yards in the AFC Championship Game against New England last season, but he'll be difficult to trust in fantasy lineups next week.
Jaguars offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett wants to get Corey Grant the ball more this season.
Jacksonville does have workhorse running back Leonard Fournette, so this could just get some excitement in the spring; but as Hackett says, Grant has seemingly made big plays whenever he's given the ball. Hackett says Grant is "just a guy we've got to get out there" and went on to talk about his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. The Jaguars OC also talked about T.J. Yeldon's ability, so he's not to be forgotten in the mix. The bottom line is the Jags have three running backs they feel very comfortable about, and Grant could have a bigger role this season. There's a chance Grant delivers value in standard leagues, but he's still more of a deep-league option at the moment.
Corey Grant has been tendered at a second-round level.
The move all but assures that Grant will be back in Jacksonville next season, as other teams would need to forfeit a second-round pick in order to sign the 26-year-old. He didn't get much run behind Leonard Fournette last season, but Grant flashed some serious upside when he was on the field. There's a chance he pushes T.J. Yeldon for the main change-of-pace role in 2018, which could lead to fantasy value in deeper leagues.
Corey Grant provides a spark in AFC Championship loss.
Grant rushed once for two yards and caught three passes for 59 yards. The Jags got the dynamic backup involved early with quick passes, but he fell out of the game plan after that, which was probably a mistake. Grant is a name to keep an eye on as he enters restricted free agency.
Corey Grant handles one touch in playoff victory.
Grant rushed once for three yards in the 10-3 win over Buffalo. The 26-year-old will be primarily used on special teams next week as the Jags look to upset Pittsburgh.
Corey Grant scores in Week 15.
In a blowout win over the Texans, Grant received a season-high in carries and led the Jaguars in rushing. He carried ten times for 69 yards and a touchdown in the victory, showing his great burst with the ball in his hands. With Leonard Fournette (quadricep) set to return next week, it's unlikely this leads to more work for Grant on offense, but it's good to see him shine with his opportunities.
Corey Grant scores on fake punt in Week 10.
The Jaguars did a fake punt in the first quarter, and Grant took it right up the middle for a 56-yard touchdown. It was Grant's only touch of the game, but he made it count with another one of the big plays he's had over the last two seasons. Despite his real-life contributions to the Jags, Grant is not a recommended fantasy option as the fourth option in the backfield for Jacksonville.
Corey Grant gets four carries in Week 9.
Grant gained 18 yards on his four attempts versus the Bengals. He's not on the fantasy radar right now.
Corey Grant gets seven touches against Indianapolis.
Grant carried six times for only eight yards but also added a 28-yard reception in the Jaguars' win. After T.J. Yeldon's huge performance (nine carries for 122 yards and a touchdown), Grant might end up as the fourth guy in Jacksonville's backfield. Either way, Leonard Fournette, who is fully expected back in Week 9, will dominate touches and fantasy value for the Jaguars.
Corey Grant gets one target in Week 5.
He didn't have any reception in the game and he is not a reliable fantasy option despite continuing to play over former second-round pick T.J. Yeldon.
Jaguars run fake punt in blowout win over the Ravens.
Already blowing out Baltimore, the Jaguars decided to run a fake punt, which Corey Grant took for 58 yards. Total, Grant had six caries for 75 yards in the game, along with an 18-yard reception. The big-play back isn't a reliable fantasy option behind Leonard Fournette and Chris Ivory in Jacksonville's backfield.
Corey Grant gains 58 yards in Week 3 of the preseason.
The Jaguars actually ran a fake punt, which Grant took right up the middle for a gain of 51 yards. Grant couldn't get much going besides that, carrying ten times for 58 yards total. It'd be a surprise if Grant is not on the Jaguars final roster, but he's unlikely to have much fantasy value while he's buried on the depth chart.
Corey Grant carries four times for 13 yards in exhibition against the Bucs.
The second-year back didn't get much work, but he looks good and had the second most carries behind Chris Ivory (seven). Grant could have an opportunity to make a statement in the third preseason game versus Carolina, with Leonard Fournette (foot) and T.J. Yeldon (hamstring) battling injuries.
Corey Grant breaks long touchdown run in preseason against NE.
Grant had eight carries for 120 yards, including a 79-yard touchdown where he ran up the middle then got to the second level and showed his breakaway speed. Grant impressed with a 57-yard touchdown during the regular season last year, but the Jaguars running back group is very crowded in front of him.
Corey Grant goes over 100 yards in Jaguars' final game of the season.
Grant had 18 carries for 122 yards and a touchdown, with two catches for 15 yards against the Colts. Grant is someone to keep an eye on for 2017, but he'll be behind T.J. Yeldon and Chris Ivory in the Jaguars backfield.
