The Vikings are releasing David Morgan.

Morgan deal with knee issues all of 2019, and Minnesota is moving in another direction ahead of free agency. Hopefully Morgan can get healthy and back on the field for a new team this year.

Morgan is coming off arthroscopic knee surgery and was expected to be ready for the start of training camp, but he can be taken off the PUP list at any time and should be back on the field soon. Morgan is a much better real-life contributor for Minnesota than fantasy asset.

Pelissero says the surgery was done recently and that he's expected to be ready for the start of training camp. The Vikings are expected to use a lot of multiple tight end sets this season, and Morgan will likely be a much better real-life contributor than fantasy asset in 2019.

Morgan was targeted two times against Green Bay, gaining 26 yards on his two receptions. He also filled in as the backup long snapper when Kevin McDermott left with an injury, and he did an excellent job. David Morgan II leaves game with a concussion.

Morgan has been ruled out against the Falcons. He's a very good blocker, so this could hurt Minnesota's ability to run the ball for the rest of this game. Hopefully Morgan is feeling better soon.

David Morgan scores in Week 10.

Morgan scored on a great designed play-action at the one-yard line where he acted like he was blocking and then popped out to be wide-open for the easy touchdown toss. It was the second-year tight end's first career touchdown, so it'll be a day to remember as his team improved to 7-2. Morgan isn't a recommended fantasy option, but it's good to see him get in the end zone for the first time in the NFL.
