Delanie Walker plans to play in 2021.
Walker opted out of last season due to COVID-19 while also allowing himself to get closer to full health. The veteran tight end struggled with injuries over his previous two seasons, but he went over 800 receiving yards every year from 2014-2017 while also making three consecutive Pro Bowls. Walker shouldn't have much trouble landing with a new team this offseason.
The Titans released Delaine Walker.
Walker was highly productive during his seven seasons with the Titans, including four consecutive seasons of 800+ yards from 2014-2017. Leg issues derailed the veteran tight end's last two seasons, but the 35-year-old should draw considerable interest as a free agent if he wants to continue his career. Also a strong run blocker, Walker caught 381 passes for 4,423 yards and 28 touchdowns with Tennessee.
The Titans have placed Delaine Walker on injured reserve.
Walker has dealt with recent ankle issues stemming from last year's surgery, and his season ends with 21 receptions for 215 yards and two touchdowns in seven games. The veteran tight end has been trying to work his way back onto the field, but the ankle apparently has not been responding well. Walker remains under contract with the Titans in 2020, and he'll turn 36 next summer.
Delanie Walker (ankle) is officially inactive for the Titans.
There was some hope that Walker would be ready to go after the bye week, but the ankle he had surgery on last year is still giving him some trouble. This will be the fourth consecutive missed game for the veteran tight end.
Delanie Walker (ankle) is officially listed as doubtful for Week 12.
The Titans were hoping to get Walker back following their bye week, but the veteran tight end isn't quite ready to return to the lineup. Expect Walker to be ruled out on Sunday.
Delanie Walker (ankle) officially remains limited in practice.
This was expected, but two consecutive limited practices is a pretty good sign for Walker having a decent shot to suit up this Sunday against the Jaguars. The final Week 12 injury report will be released tomorrow.
Delanie Walker (ankle) was officially a limited participant in today's practice.
There's hope that Walker will be ready to return to the lineup for the Titans after their bye week, and a limited Wednesday practice is a good start to the week. Expect Walker to remain limited in tomorrow's practice.
Delanie Walker (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 10.
This is Walker's third consecutive missed game. Hopefully the Week 11 bye week gives the veteran tight end time to heal up and get back on the field for the Titans' next game, but Walker is considered week-to-week for now.
Delanie Walker (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 9.
Walker remains out of practice for the Titans, so this is not surprising. The veteran tight end should be considered week-to-week. Coming off a 6/78/1 line last week, Jonnu Smith will get another start this Sunday against the Panthers, though this week's matchup is a lot tougher than last week versus Tampa Bay.
Delanie Walker (ankle) remains out of Titans practice.
Walker is a veteran player, but he probably needs to practice tomorrow to have a decent chance of playing this Sunday against the Panthers. Right now, we'd lean toward Walker missing Week 9 with his ankle issue.
Delanie Walker (ankle) remains out of practice.
Titans head coach Mike Vrabel said they'll see about the veteran tight end's status, but he's looking iffy for Week 9 against the Panthers. We'll update you if Walker is able to hit the practice field in some capacity tomorrow.
Delanie Walker (ankle) has officially been ruled out for Week 8.
Walker did not practice all week, so this isn't a surprise. The veteran tight end says he's dealing with soreness in the ankle that suffered the season-ending injury at the beginning of last season. He should be considered week-to-week for now and is not a must-hold on redraft fantasy rosters.
Delanie Walker (ankle) remains out of practice for the Titans.
We'll see what happens tomorrow, but Walker appears to be on the wrong side of questionable for Week 8. That said, Walker is a veteran player that can probably get in a limited practice session tomorrow before playing on Sunday. The final injury report for the week will be released tomorrow.
Delanie Walker (ankle) will not practice today.
After he was active but barely played last week, Walker is looking iffy for this Sunday against the Buccaneers. We'll update you if the veteran tight end is able to hit the practice field tomorrow.
Delanie Walker (ankle) is officially questionable to return against the Chargers.
Walker entered the game with an ankle issue, and it's apparently giving him trouble. He's been on the sideline for most of the game and does not appear very likely to return despite wearing his helmet.
Delanie Walker (ankle) os officially active against the Chargers.
Walker was listed as questionable on Friday, and his practice activity led to some doubt with his status; but he’s good to go for Week 7. As usual, Walker is in the TE1 mix at a shallow position.
Delanie Walker (ankle) is officially listed as questionable for Week 7.
Walker practiced on a limited basis the first two days of the practice week, but he missed practice today, so his status might not be locked in yet. And with the Titans kicking off in the late slate of games, make sure you have a backup plan in case Walker is inactive. We do expect Walker will play against the Chargers, though.
Delanie Walker is not on the PUP list to start training camp.
This is great news as Walker returns from his bad ankle injury suffered in Week 1 of last season. The veteran tight end will likely be held back a bit throughout camp, but his Week 1 status for this season isn’t in any doubt right now.
The Titans placed Delanie Walker (ankle) on injured reserve.
Walker suffered a disclosed ankle and a fracture in yesterday's loss to the Dolphins, and his season is likely over. There's a chance the Titans bring Walker back as a designated-to-return player, but it doesn't seem very likely given the nature of the injury. Walker is a four-time team captain that's been highly productive for the Titans, so this is a big blow to both the offense and team team as a whole. We wish Walker luck in his recovery from this injury. 2017 third-round pick Jonnu Smith is the next man up for the Titans at tight end, and he has a chance to deliver TE1 value this season.
Delanie Walker suffered a dislocated ankle, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Walker also says there was an associated fracture along with the dislocated ankle. The veteran tight end will almost certainly land on injured reserve, and his season could be over. Perhaps the Titans would bring him back as a designated-to-return player, though. We wish Walker luck on his recovery from this serious injury. Jonnu Smith will assume the No. 1 tight end role for the Titans.
Delanie Walker suffers an apparent ankle injury against the Dolphins.
This one appears to be very serious for Walker, who had his lower leg/ankle area rolled up on and appeared to suffer an ugly injury. A boot was quickly put around Walker, who was then carted off the field. This is certainly a multi-week injury for the veteran tight end, and it could unfortunately be a season-ender, but we'll share more information as it becomes available. Second-year tight end Jonnu Smith will step into the starting role for as long as Walker is out. Before leaving, Walker had four receptions for 52 yards.
Delanie Walker has signed a two-year extension with the Titans.
The veteran tight end was entering the final year of his contract with Tennessee, so this deal keeps him with the team through the 2020 season. Walker has had at least 800 yards in each of his last four seasons for the Titans, and he's become Marcus Mariota's most reliable target over the middle. Walker will be 34 in a few weeks, but he's still playing at a high level and is locked in as one of the Titans' top options in the passing game this season. Second-year tight end Jonnu Smith might take over the starting role from at some point in 2019 or 2020, but Walker hasn't showed signs of slowing down yet; and the deal is reportedly worth over $8 million per season, so the team probably expects him to perform like a top-ten player at the position moving forward. He's again a TE1 option for 2018.
Delanie Walker catches three passes in the Divisional Round.
Walker gained 49 yards on his three receptions, including a long of 36 yards early in the game on a deep crossing route that took three New England defenders to bring him down on. The veteran tight end has one year remaining on his contract, and the Titans are likely to want him back, but they do have third-round selection Jonnu Smith waiting in the wings. For now, consider Walker a TE1 option in fantasy drafts next summer if he remains with Tennessee.
Delanie Walker leads the Titans in receiving in playoff win.
Walker was a reliable target for Marcus Mariota over the middle against the Chiefs, catching six of eight targets for 74 yards. He was also open on a corner route that could have been a touchdown, but it was poor route distribution and was intercepted by Kansas City. The veteran tight end will be a high-floor fantasy option in the Divisional Round against the Patriots or Steelers.
Delanie Walker catches three passes in Week 17.
The Titans couldn't get much going through the air against the Jags, and Walker was no exception. The veteran tight end had three receptions for 19 yards in the win, bringing his season line to 74/807/3. He'll now be back in the playoffs with the Titans, starting next week against Kansas City.
Delanie Walker gets five targets in Titans' loss.
Walker caught three passes for 33 yards in the Week 16 loss to the Rams, which is a bit of a surprise considering the Titans threw the ball 39 times. Walker will look to do more damage against the Jags in a must-win Week 17 matchup.
Delanie Walker has up-and-down performance in Week 15 loss.
Walker caught five passes for 37 yards and a touchdown, but he also dropped a perfect pass from Marcus Mariota for another touchdown and lost a fumble in a 25-23 loss. The veteran should be a low-end TE1 option on Christmas Eve against the Rams in a huge game for Tennessee's quest for a wild-card spot.
Delanie walker gets nine targets in Titans’ loss.
Walker’s nine targets were a team high, and he caught five passes for 42 yards in the game. This snaps Walker’s six-game streak of at least 50 receiving yards, but he’ll look to start the streak back up against next week against the 49ers.
Delanie Walker scores in Week 13.
Walker caught all five of his targets against the Texans, gaining 63 yards with a 24-yard touchdown on a deep crossing route. Walker did appear to get a little banged up throughout the game, but he should be fine moving forward. This is now two-straight games with a touchdown reception for Walker, who didn't catch a touchdown all season until last week. And it's also six-straight games with at least 60 yards. Keep him locked in fantasy lineups next week versus Arizona.
Delanie Walker catches touchdown in Week 12.
Walker was targeted five times against the Colts, catching four passes (on five targets) for 63 yards and a touchdown. The 63 receiving yards led the team, and the score came on a corner route in the end zone—Walker's first touchdown reception of the season, as he only had a rushing touchdown so far this year. Walker also had a 37-yard reception on a deep route where four or five Colts were trying to chase him while the ball was in the air in one of the weirdest plays you'll see. The veteran tight end now has at least 60 yards in each of the last five games, and he needs to remain in lineups as a TE1.
Delanie Walker catches six passes in Week 11.
Walker was targeted a team-high eight times against the Steelers, gaining 92 yards on his six receptions in the Thursday night loss. Walker had a long reception of 42 yards on a pass deep down the middle of the field. It could've been an even bigger night for Walker, who dropped a perfect pass in the end zone for what would have been his first receiving touchdown of the season. Though he's still looking for his first touchdown catch in 2017, Walker will be a high-floor option next week versus Indy.
Delanie Walker leads the Titans in Week 10 receiving.
Walker continues to play through the ankle injury that has had him listed as questionable for the last two games, and he doesn't seem to be too affected by it. Walker caught six of nine targets for 63 yards in a win over the Bengals. This makes three straight weeks with at least 63 yards for Walker, but he has yet to catch a touchdown this season. The veteran tight end will be a high-floor option against the Steelers in Week 11.
Delanie Walker (ankle) is active against the Bengals.
Walker indicated he would be ready to be out there, and the questionable designation basically just tells he's not at 100% while dealing with the ankle issue. Walker is our 9th ranked tight end in standard leagues this week.
Delanie Walker (ankle) will be limited in practice this week.
Walker appeared fine in Tennessee's win yesterday against the Ravens, so he'll likely to practice all week on a limited basis before playing again this Sunday against the Bengals. Perhaps Walker will be listed as questionable heading into the weekend, but there isn't much concern about his status for the game.
Delanie Walker catches all five targets in Week 9.
Walker didn't show any limitations while dealing with his ankle injury suffered in Week 7, gaining 71 yards on his five receptions, including a long of 25 yards. The veteran tight end is on pace for 74 receptions for 790 yards and no touchdowns, but look for him to put together some scores in the second half of the season. His reception and yardage totals are on par with last season (65 receptions for 800 yards).
Delanie Walker (ankle) is active for Week 9.
This is a great recovery from Walker, as it looked like he suffered a serious injury in Week 7 against the Browns; but he's toughing it out and is not missing any games after the team's Week 8 bye week. Walker's presence is an upgrade for Marcus Mariota and the entire offense, but perhaps expectations should be tempered a bit if he's less than 100%.
Delanie Walker (ankle) is questionable for Week 9.
Walker practiced on a limited basis today after missing practice on Wednesday and Thursday, so it appears he does have a decent chance of playing Sunday against Baltimore. Expect him to be a game-time decision, and we'll know by 11:30 AM ET if he's active or inactive for the game. Be sure to have a backup plan (perhaps Titans rookie tight end Jonnu Smith) if you're planning on starting Walker in your TE spot.
Delanie Walker (ankle) misses practice again.
The veteran tight end hasn't practiced over the last two days, so it's be a long shot if he isn't out there in at least a limited capacity tomorrow. The official injury report for the Sunday's game will be released tomorrow, so we'll get more clarity on the situation when it's released.
Delanie Walker (ankle) did not practice today.
It's only Wednesday, but he's looking on the doubtful side of things for Week 9. We'll update you on the tight end's status throughout the week.
Delanie Walker is in a walking boot.
Walker apparently escaped with a serious injury, as the Titans hope he's back after the team's Week 8 bye week. Consider him questionable for now, as we should know more next week when Titans practice reports come back out again.
Delanie Walker leaves game with apparent leg injury.
Walker was injured in overtime after catching a pass from Marcus Mariota. He limped to the sideline and didn't even try to put pressure on his right leg, so it looks like Walker's day is done. Walker had seven receptions for 63 yards in the game, working as Mariota's go-to guy throughout the game. Tennessee has a bye next week, and now we just have to hope his injury is not too serious. More information should become available within the next day or so.
Titans TE Delanie Walker (calf) will play today, according to Adam Schefter.
It was worth keeping an eye on, but this was fully expected. Against a team giving up a lot of fantasy points to opposing tight ends, Walker is a top-five tight end option for Week 7 and should be in most fantasy lineups.
Delanie Walker (calf) is questionable for Sunday.
Walker didn't practice today and now looks like a game-time decision against Cleveland. The game is an early 1:00 PM ET game, so you'll know Sunday morning and can set your lineup based on Walker's status. Jonnu Smith wouldn't be a bad option if Walker ends up sitting, as the Browns have been very bad at stopping opposing tight ends this year.
Delanie Walker gets five touches in Week 6.
Walker couldn't get much going against the Colts, catching four of eight targets for only 17 yards in the Titans' win. Walker also received a carry on a jet sweep by the goal line, but it just wasn't there and went for -3 yards. The veteran tight end should bounce back against the Browns in Week 7.
Delanie Walker gets touchdown called back in Week 5.
The veteran tight end caught three of five targets for 25 yards versus the Dolphins, and he had a 59-yard touchdown called back because of a debatable offensive pass interference call against Jonnu Smith. Walker gets the Colts on Monday night in Week 6, and he'll be a solid fantasy option in the game against a team he's had success against over the last few years.
Delanie Walker gets seven targets in Week 4.
Walker had three receptions for 51 yards, including a long of 21, in the loss to Houston. Through four games, Walker is on pace for 72 receptions for 876 yards and no touchdowns. The touchdowns should come, though, and Walker remains one of the better tight end options out there.
Delanie Walker gets six targets in Week 3.
He caught four passes for 31 yards against the Seahawks. It definitely wasn't a bad game or anything, but Walker will look to put up better numbers next week against the Texans.
Delanie Walker leads team in receiving, rushes for touchdown in Week 2 win.
Walker caught four passes for 61 yards and vultured a touchdown in the third quarter with a one-yard rush. The veteran is off to a strong start in 2017, and he still looks like Marcus Mariota's most-trusted target. Walker will be a midrange/low-end TE1 against Seattle in Week 3.
Delanie Walker leads Titans in receiving in Week 1.
Walker had seven receptions (on nine targets) for 76 yards against the Raiders. Despite the new weapons at receiver for Marcus Mariota, he's still going to look Walker's way this year. Walker has at least 50 yards or a touchdown in each of his last six games against the Jaguars, his Week 2 opponent.
Delanie Walker catches long pass in Titans' third preseason game.
Tennessee's athletic tight endnote behind a zone defense and Marcus Mariota lofted him a pass that went for 27 yards. Some are concerned with the additional weapons added to the offense, but Delaine Walker should again be a very good TE1 in 2017.
Delanie Walker catches four-yard touchdown in Week 2 of the preseason.
The Titans tight end made a nice diving catch in the end zone when he ran a corner route against a zone coverage and Marcus Mariota put it out there for him to go get. It was Walker's only reception of the day, but he only played a couple of series in the game. Walker should definitely be a safe TE1 option (and one with good upside) in your fantasy draft.
Delanie Walker had five catches for 35 yards to conclude his season.
Walker finishes his season with 65 receptions for 800 yards and seven touchdowns. Walker will be an obvious TE1 next season, and will look to get back over the 1,000 yard mark as Marcus Mariota's tight end.
Delanie Walker scores on Christmas Eve.
He had three catches for 23 yards and a touchdown from Marcus Mariota against Jacksonville. His value takes a hit with Mariota out for Week 17 with a broken fibula, but Walker is still a TE1.
Delanie Walker caught six-of-seven targets for 55 yards against the Chiefs in Week 15.
His seven targets were second on the team and look for him to get a good amount of targets again versus Jacksonville on Christmas Eve. He's obviously a TE1.
Delanie Walker caught two passes for 30 yards in Sunday's win over Denver.
Now, Marcus Mariota completed just six passes for 88 yards, so Walker actually had a decent share of the passing volume with seven targets and led the team in yards. The veteran tight end has a tough matchup with Kansas City next week, but he remains a solid TE1.
Walker caught three passes for 50 yards in Sunday's win over Chicago.
The veteran tight end continues to be a reliable target for Marcus Mariota, but fantasy owners will need to look elsewhere at the position for Week 13, as the Titans have a rare bye week in the final week of the fantasy regular season in most leagues. Walker will be an elite option in Week 14 against the Broncos.
Delanie Walker held relatively in check against the Colts in Week 11.
Walker had four catches for 36 yards. He’s not going to have huge games every single week. He’s still a great TE1 and maybe the best option out there besides Rob Gronkowski.
Walker has monster day as Titans destroy Packers.
He caught nine passes for 124 yards and one touchdown. Walker showed no ill-effects from the groin injury he played through in Week 9. He's an easy top-5 option this week against the Colts.
