WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

James Robinson | Jaguars RB

James Robinson confirmed to have torn Achilles.

This was the fear when Robinson left the game earlier today. Robinson's year is obviously over, and now he faces a big challenge in overcome the Achilles injury with an eye toward 2022. Despite being an undrafted player, Robinson has been impressive in his first two NFL seasons, and he should be a key part of the Jaguars' plans moving forward. After rushing for 1,000 yards as a rookie, Robinson had 164 carries for 767 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns along with 31 receptions for 222 receiving yards in 15 games this season. We wish Robinson luck on his recovery.

James Robinson (Achilles) is out for the rest of today.

This obviously isn't great to hear, and now we just have to hope this isn't a torn Achilles—which is sounds like it might be based on him getting carted to the locker room and being ruled out already in the first quarter. Before leaving, J-Rob had three carries for ten yards against the Jets in Week 16. More information on Robinson's injury should become available in the next 24 hours.

James Robinson (heel/knee) is officially active for the Jaguars.

Robinson continues to be banged up this season, and there was reportedly some pessimism about his playing this week, but the second-year running back is indeed active again for Week 13 versus the Rams. Perhaps J-Rob’s floor should be lowered to some extent, but he’s been handling a good number of touches at less than 100% this season.

James Robinson (ankle) is officially active for Week 10.

The hope was that Robinson would be ready to return to the lineup after missing just one game, and the second-year running back is indeed ready to go against the Colts. Carlos Hyde might get more work with Robinson at less than 100%, but J-Rob remains a strong play in Week 10 lineups.

James Robinson | Jaguars RB

James Robinson (heel) is questionable for Week 10.

Head coach Urban Meyer says that Robinson has a good chance to play, so fantasy owners should be able to count on him in lineups this weekend. The matchup is difficult versus an Indy run defense that will be gearing up to stop the run, but Robinson should be started as a midrange RB2 option.

James Robinson | Jaguars RB

James Robinson (heel) is officially inactive for Week 9.

Robinson was able to get to the point where he tested his heel/ankle during pregame warmups, but he’s being held out for today’s matchup against the Bills. Carlos Hyde will lead the Jacksonville backfield, but he gets a tough matchup today.

James Robinson (heel) is questionable for Week 9.

Robinson is set to be a game-time decision, as it'll come down to how he's feeling during pregame warmups on Sunday. With the Jaguars playing in the early window of games, Robinson's status will be known by 11:30 AM ET on Sunday.

James Robinson | Jaguars RB

James Robinson (foot) is considered day-to-day, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Robinson's status is in doubt for Week 9 versus the Bills, but he escaped serious injury, so fantasy owners can breath a sigh of relief. While it will be a difficult matchup, Carlos Hyde is worth considering as a pickup for running back-needy teams in the event that Robinson doesn't play next weekend.

James Robinson | Jaguars RB

James Robinson (ankle) did not return for the Jaguars.

Before leaving, Robinson had four carries for 22 yards and one reception for 17 yards early against the Seahawks. Carlos Hyde handled the backfield work when Robinson left. Hopefully the second-year running back doesn't miss any more time after today, but we'll see what the word is on his status.

James Robinson (ankle) is officially questionable to return for the Jaguars.

Hopefully Robinson is able to return versus the Seahawks soon, but we'll keep you updated on his status.

James Robinson | Jaguars RB

James Robinson (ankle) won't play in Week 17.

The Jaguars are playing it safe with Robinson after an outstanding rookie year as an undrafted player. Robinson's year ends with 240 carries for 1,070 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns along with 49 receptions for 344 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns in 14 games. The 1,414 total yards for Robinson set a new NFL record for undrafted rookies.

James Robinson (ankle) will not play in Week 16, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

There was some expectation that Robinson would push through this ankle issue, but it’s not a surprise the team is playing it safe. The undrafted rookie runner appears to have a very bright future, so the Jags are making the smart move resting him tomorrow.

James Robinson | Jaguars RB

The Jaguars plan to rest James Robinson during the week of practice.

[UPDATE: The expectation is still that Robinson will play on Sunday for Week 16 against the Bears.] The word is that Robinson might be out for Week 16 against the Bears, but that's not locked in yet. However, Robinson is not expected to practice fully this week, and he ultimately may have a tough time playing on Sunday while dealing with an ankle injury if the team wants to take a cautious approach. The rookie running back does want to play, though, so we'll see. Robinson has already set the record for most scrimmage yards from an undrafted rookie this season.

James Robinson | Jaguars RB

James Robinson leads Jaguars backfield in Week 1.

Robinson carried 16 times for 62 yards and caught one pass for 28 yards in Jacksonville's win over Indianapolis, immediately taking over the Jaguars backfield as an undrafted rookie. The next closest ball-carrier was quarterback Gardner Minshew with five carries, and Robinson showed off his athleticism with an impressive hurdle in his first career game. Things could get more interesting when Ryquell Armstead gets healthy in the Jacksonville backfield, but Robinson is currently on the FLEX radar because of his potential workload. He'll face a tough Titans defense in Week 2.
