WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

The Panthers are declining Jarius Wright's option.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, this clears $3 million in cap space for Carolina, so this is not a surprising move for a team set to go through a full-blown rebuild. Perhaps a Vikings team that Wright spent six seasons with to start his career will be interested in bringing the veteran receiver back.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jarius Wright caught two passes for 20 yards in Sunday's win over the Saints.

Wright finishes his first season in Carolina with 43 receptions for 447 yards and one touchdown. The catches were a new career-high, and Wright is a Norv Turner favorite, but the Panthers might look for a different No. 3 receiver behind D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel in 2019 because they are all somewhat similar players.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jarius Wright catches seven passes in Week 16.

Wright gained 69 yards on his seven receptions versus the Falcons. He also lost a fumble which set the Falcons up in the red zone. The veteran receiver isn't a highly-recommended fantasy option in Week 17 against the Bucs.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jarius Wright catches three passes for 21 yards in Monday night's loss to New Orleans.

Wright worked as the No. 3 receiver ahead of Devin Funchess, but fantasy owners should look elsewhere with Cam Newton struggling mightily. The Panthers take on the Falcons next week.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jarius Wright caught three passes for 36 yards in Sunday's loss to the Browns.

He also rushed once for five yards. The veteran slot receiver has seen his role decrease with Curtis Samuel (4/80) and D.J. Moore (5/67) both emerging, so he won't be a recommended fantasy option next week against the Saints.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jarius Wright caught two passes for 44 yards in Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers.

Wright was nearly able to find the end zone on one of his grabs, but he looks like the No. 4 wideout the rest of the way with Devin Funchess back in the lineup and the dynamic duo of Curtis Samuel and D.J. Moore both emerging. Look elsewhere in the fantasy playoffs.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jarius Wright catches two passes in Week 12.

Wright gained 25 yards on his two receptions versus Seattle. Wright is not a recommended fantasy option at the moment.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jarius Wright catches all three targets in Week 11.

Wright gained 40 yards on his three receptions against the Lions. However, he got wide-open for what would've been a go-ahead two-point conversion with just over a minute to go in the game, and Cam Newton missed him badly with a high throw. Wright is playing well, but he's not a fantasy option as no better than the No. 6 target for Carolina.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jarius Wright caught three passes for 22 yards in Carolina's loss to the Steelers.

Wright operated as the team's No. 3 receiver behind Devin Funchess and D.J. Moore, but it was a night to forget for everyone other than Christian McCaffrey (three scores), as the Panthers lost, 52-21. The veteran won't be a recommended fantasy option in Week 11 against Detroit.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jarius Wright catches one pass in Week 9 win.

It went for eight yards on his lone target. The veteran isn't a recommended fantasy option with D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel both stepping up for Carolina.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jarius Wright caught two passes for five yards in Sunday's win over the Ravens.

Wright was target three times as Carolina spread the ball around, but the veteran is a better real life option than fantasy option heading into a matchup against Tampa Bay.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jarius Wright picks up chunk yardage in win over the Eagles.

Wright caught two passes for 37 yards, also adding a 34-yard rush. Carolina has plenty of weapons behind Devin Funchess at wideout, but Wright, D.J. Moore, and Curtis Samuel all cancel each other out too much for the veteran to be worth considering in fantasy lineups. He'll try to make an impact against the Ravens next Sunday.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jarius Wright caught three passes for 25 yards in Sunday's win over the Giants.

Wright (six) was behind just Devin Funchess (seven) for targets in the victory, but the playmaking ability of D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel could give them more playing time sooner rather than later. The veteran slot receiver isn't a recommended fantasy option heading into a matchup with the Redskins.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jarius Wright catches one pass in win over the Bengals.

It went for seven yards. Wright isn't a recommended fantasy option as he rotates with Torrey Smith and D.J. Moore behind clear No. 1 Devin Funchess.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jarius Wright scores in Week 2 loss.

Wright caught five passes for 62 yards and a touchdown, which came from five yards out in the second quarter. The veteran is operating as a clear top-three receiver to start the season, and it looks like he will have a significant role for the foreseeable future despite first-round pick D.J. Moore (who had a 51-yard touchdown on Sunday) waiting in the wings. Still, Wright is just an option in deeper PPR leagues.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jarius Wright looks good in Week 1 win.

Operating as the starting slot receiver in Norv Turner's offense, Wright caught three passes for 23 yards. The veteran didn't need to do much in a low-volume passing attack for the opener, but he could be ticketed for a larger role now that Greg Olsen (foot) is injured. PPR owners should have Wright on their radar.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

The Panthers signed Jarius Wright to a three-year deal.

Wright is reunited with new Panthers offensive coordinator Norv Turner, who was with Wright as the Vikings offensive coordinator from the 2014 season and into the 2016 season until he stepped away from the team. In a Panthers receiving group looking for players to emerge, Wright has a chance to be a top-three wide receiver for them. At the very least, he'll provide good leadership and an example for second-year receiver Curtis Samuel in the slot. Wright isn't a recommended fantasy selection in 2018 fantasy drafts as of now, but he's someone to keep an eye on.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

The Vikings have released wide receiver Jarius Wright.

Wright spent each of his first six NFL season with the Vikings after the team selected him in the fourth round of the 2012 draft and had some solid seasons with them, but he was phased out of the offense a bit over the past two seasons. During his six years in Minnesota, Wright caught 153 passes for 2,039 yards and ten touchdowns. Wright is only 28 and will certainly draw interest from other clubs.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jarius Wright caught three passes for 51 yards in Sunday's loss to the Eagles.

He also rushed once for four yards. Wright probably saw the field more than Minnesota would have liked, but they were forced into passing situations down big in the 38-7 loss to end their season. Splitting time with Laquon Treadwell as the team's third receiver, Wright should have a similar role in 2018 if Treadwell doesn't make a big leap.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jarius Wright caught three passes for 56 yards in Sunday's playoff win over New Orleans.

Wright made some key plays for Minnesota in the heart-pounding victory. The team's third receiver was also open over the middle on what would have been a potential catch to set up a game-winning field goal, but Case Keenum didn't see him. Fortunately, they scored on a 61-yard reception by Stefon Diggs shortly after to win on the final play of the game. Wright will look to come up big against the Eagles next Sunday.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jarius Wright catches one pass against the Packers.

Wright gained eight yards on his lone reception, and it went for a first down on an out route. Wright isn't a fantasy option, but he has a nice role rotating in at receiver for the Vikings.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jarius Wright caught two passes for 13 yards in Sunday's loss to Carolina.

Wright converted a big third down in the fourth quarter, and he seems to be a reliable target over the middle when Case Keenum needs it. Still, he's not a fantasy option next week against the Bengals.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jarius Wright catches three passes in win over the Falcons.

They went for 18 yards, but they were key receptions in key moments in Minnesota's 14-9 win. Wright should have a confidence boost down the stretch, but he's not an option in the fantasy playoffs.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jarius Wright catches two passes in Week 12.

Wright gained 25 yards on his two receptions in the game. His role isn't big enough on offense to be a reliable fantasy option.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jarius Wright catches 23-yard pass in win over the Rams.

It was his only reception of the game. Wright isn't a fantasy option as a complimentary player for Minnesota.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jarius Wright scores in Week 10.

Wright caught a quick screen down by the goal line that he basically walked in for a seven-yard touchdown. It was Wright's lone target of the game, and he isn't a recommended fantasy option right now.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jarius Wright leads Vikings in Week 7 receiving.

Wright caught three of four targets for 54 yards, including a long of 30 yards, in the win over Baltimore. With Stefon Diggs (groin) and Michael Floyd (hamstring) inactive, Wright stepped up and made a solid impact for his team. He's not a recommended fantasy option, but Wright is a valuable player to the Vikings in real life.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jarius Wright scores in Week 3.

Wright had two receptions for nine yards and the touchdown from Case Keenum. He is a better real-life contributor than fantasy contributor right now.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jairus Wright catches one pass for nine yards in Week 2.

Wright is off the fantasy radar and will contribute more in real life than he will for your fantasy team right now.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jairus Wright catches 21-yard pass in Week 1.

The 21-yard reception was one of a handful of 20+ yard pass plays for the Vikings against the Saints, but it was Wright's only reception in the game. He'll be more of a contributor to the Vikings in real life than fantasy, as being the fourth receiver won't be enough for him to deliver fantasy value.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jarius Wright catches all three targets in Week 2 of the preseason.

The 27-year-old Vikings slot receiver had 16 yards in the exhibition against the Seahawks. Wright is probably on the roster bubble after the team added some players to the receiving group this offseason.

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jarius Wright catches one pass to open the preseason against Buffalo.

With Laquon Treadwell out for over a week because of a thigh injury, Wright has an opportunity to step up and work with the first-team offense until Treadwell returns. Wright will probably be battling for a roster spot, though, given Minnesota's depth at receiver.
