WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Johnny Holton | Giants WR

The Giants signed Johnny Holton.

Holton can contribute at both receiver and in the return game, and he presumably will help pick up the slack with Golden Tate (hamstring, day-to-day) currently out.

Johnny Holton | Giants WR

The Steelers terminated Johnny Holton's contract.

Holton is a versatile player that can contribute on special teams, so he should not have much trouble finding a new team. However, Holton is not really on the fantasy radar at the moment.

Johnny Holton | Giants WR

The Steelers are signing Johnny Holton, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

The Eagles waived Holton last week, so he'll move to the other side of Pennsylvania to join Pittsburgh. Holton will look to use his speed to carve out a role—special teams included—to make the Steelers roster in 2019. He's not on the fantasy radar yet, though.

Johnny Holton | Giants WR

The Eagles have released Johnny Holton.

Holton—a pure deep threat—spent the past three years in Oakland before signing with Philadelphia, but his stay was a short one. We'll see if the 27-year-old can land somewhere else before training camp as either a receiver or cornerback.

Johnny Holton | Giants WR

The Eagles signed Johnny Holton to a future/reserve contract.

The Raiders had experimented with Holton at cornerback during the season, but he's been announced as a wide receiver signing for Philadelphia in an apparent move back to the other side of the ball. Holton can contribute on both offense and special teams, and he'll look to carve out a role with the Eagles in 2019.

Johnny Holton | Giants WR

Johnny Holton sees one target in loss to the Ravens.

He and Derek Carr didn't connect. The speedster was switched to cornerback for Oakland, but injuries at wideout could give him more looks there down the stretch. Still, he needs to connect on a deep ball to be worth a Hail Mary play.

Johnny Holton | Giants WR

The Raiders have moved Johnny Holton to cornerback.

Holton was just re-signed to Oakland's practice squad, and they're moving him to cornerback in part because the receiving corps is so crowded. Raiders offensive coordinator Greg Olson says Holton is "just a good football player," and head coach Jon Gruden probably feels the same way. Holton has a ton of speed, so it'll be hard for him to get beat deep at corner. Holton is also a very good special teams player, so he could find himself back on the 53-man roster soon. Holton had 218 yards and three touchdowns on just nine receptions last season, and it's possible he still eventually works in as a situational deep threat on offense despite the position change.

Johnny Holton | Giants WR

The Raiders are waiving Johnny Holton.

Holton initially made the 53-man roster for Oakland, but unfortunately the acquisition of veteran receiver Brandon Lafell led to Holton being released. Holton contributes on special teams and should be able to find another team quickly.

Johnny Holton | Giants WR

Johnny Holton caught two passes for 18 yards in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs.

Holton most likely needs a deep touchdown to be worth a start, so he can stay on the waiver wire heading into a matchup with the Cowboys.

Johnny Holton | Giants WR

Johnny Holton scores in Week 13 win.

Holton caught three passes for 39 yards, including a nine-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. He also lost a fumble, but it was a quality game for the deep threat. Fantasy owners can ignore him with Michael Crabtree and hopefully Amari Cooper set to return in Week 14.

Johnny Holton | Giants WR

Johnny Holton catches 47-yard pass in Week 12 win.

He also caught another six-yard pass, finished with two receptions for 53 yards. The deep threat might be able to get behind the NYG defense next Sunday, but he's just a desperation play in deeper leagues.

Johnny Holton | Giants WR

Johnny Holton catches long touchdown in Week 9.

This was Bolton’s second reception of the season, but he’s made them both count. In Week 4 against the Broncos, he caught a 64-yard touchdown, and this one against Miami was for 44 yards. Holton isn’t a fantasy option, but he’s a very good situational deep threat for Derek Carr and the Raiders.

Johnny Holton | Giants WR

Johnny Holton scores deep touchdown in loss to the Broncos.

It was a 64-yard score and Holton's only catch of the game. It was also basically the only offense for the Raiders in Week 4. Holton isn't a fantasy option.

Johnny Holton | Giants WR

Johnny Holton catches 17-yard score in Raiders' loss to the Rams.

If not for the Rams scoring after, the fourth quarter touchdown by Holton would have been the game-winner. It was his only catch of the game. Holton isn't a fantasy option.
