WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Jordan Thomas | Free Agent TE

The Patriots waived Jordan Thomas.

The Patriots claimed Thomas from the Cardinals earlier this season, but they are going in another direction for now.

Jordan Thomas has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

This doesn’t appear to be an issue where it will affect the Patriots’ Monday night’s game against the Bills, but hopefully Thomas is OK and can come off the COVID list soon.

The Patriots claimed Jordan Thomas.

Thomas was just waived by the Cardinals, and he joins a New England squad looking for increased production from the tight end position. The former Texan is someone to keep an eye on, but he's off the redraft radar for now.

The Cardinals elevated Jordan Thomas to the active roster.

Thomas will serve as depth this weekend behind Dan Arnold, but he isn’t currently on the fantasy radar in redraft leagues.

The Texans activated Jordan Thomas off injured reserve.

Thomas was placed on injured reserve on September 2, but he's officially back as one of the Texans' two potential designated-to-return players. The 2018 sixth-round pick will give Houston a boost in real-life, but he's not a recommended fantasy pickup at the moment. Veteran tight end Darren Fells has done a really nice job as a red-zone target for Deshaun Watson this season, so it might be difficult for Thomas to get on the field for key snaps.

The Texans placed Jordan Thomas on injured reserve.

Thomas is dealing with a rib injury. He can be brought back in eight weeks as a designated-to-return player, but he's not a recommended fantasy hold.

Jordan Thomas did not catch a pass in the Wild Card Round.

Jordan Akins worked ahead of Thomas in the Texans' playoff loss to the Colts. The rookie tight end showed flashes as a six-foot-six target that caught four touchdowns during the season, and he'll be someone to watch throughout the spring and summer leading up to the 2019 season.

Jordan Thomas catches one pass in Week 17.

Thomas gained six yards on his lone reception against the Jags. The rookie tight end's regular season ends with 20 receptions for 215 yards and four touchdowns, as he emerged as Houston's top tight end red-zone threat this year.

Jordan Thomas catches one pass in Week 15 win.

It went for two yards. Thomas had worked his way up the rankings in recent weeks, so this was a disappointment for those who went with the rookie as a TE2 option. He will look to bounce back next week in Philly.

Jordan Thomas | Free Agent TE

Jordan Thomas caught four passes for 31 yards in Sunday's loss to Indy.

Thomas brought in all of his targets in Week 14, but so did fellow tight ends Ryan Griffin (5/80) and Jordan Akins (2/40). All three will be difficult to trust for a Saturday game against the Jets next week.

Jordan Thomas scores in win over the Browns.

Thomas caught three passes for 32 yards, including an 11-yard touchdown in the first quarter. The former college receiver has now scored four touchdowns as a rookie, but he probably isn't a big enough weekly factor to warrant serious consideration in the fantasy playoffs.

Jordan Thomas | Free Agent TE

Jordan Thomas targeted twice in Week 13 win.

He caught one of them for six yards. The rookie has the size to eventually be a weapon for Bill O'Brien's offense, but he isn't on the fantasy radar in redraft leagues.

Jordan Thomas catches one pass in Week 11.

Thomas gained 11 yards on his one reception versus the Redskins. This ends the rookie tight end's streak of two straight games with a touchdown, but he'll look to have a bigger game in Week 12 against the Titans.

Jordan Thomas | Free Agent TE

Jordan Thomas scores in win over the Broncos.

It came from seven yards away on the game's opening drive, but Thomas wasn't targeted besides that. The rookie has found the end zone three times over the past two weeks, though, and he'll look to keep it up when Houston returns from their Week 10 bye.

Jordan Thomas | Free Agent TE

Jordan Thomas scores first career touchdowns in win over the Dolphins.

Thomas caught four passes for 29 yards, including a couple red-zone scores. The rookie should get more opportunities to make plays with Deshaun Watson under center, but he's unlikely to develop into a fantasy option in 2018 with just eight receptions through eight games.

Jordan Thomas | Free Agent TE

Jordan Thomas catches one pass in Week 5.

Thomas gained 11 yards on his lone reception against Dallas. Ryan Griffin worked as the clear top tight end for the Texans in the win, so Thomas is not a fantasy option right now.

Jordan Thomas | Free Agent TE

Jordan Thomas catches both targets in Week 3.

Thomas gained 53 yards on his two receptions against the Giants, with gains of 39 yards and 14 yards. The rookie tight end from Mississippi State is more of a dynasty-league option for now, but he's someone to keep an eye on.

Jordan Thomas | Free Agent TE

Jordan Thomas catches one pass against the Patriots.

The sixth-round rookie tight end showed his big-play ability in his first NFL game, gaining 27 yards on his lone reception. Thomas is someone to keep an eye on, but he's not a recommended fantasy starter at the moment.

Jordan Thomas | Free Agent TE

The Texans have selected Mississippi State tight end Jordan Thomas with the 211th pick (sixth round) of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Thomas is a "tweener" between wide receiver and tight end, but he will likely need to play tight end at the next level, and that's what Houston drafted him as. He has the athleticism to be a difference-maker, but Thomas hasn't put it all together, so Bill O'Brien will try to unlock his potential. He can be ignored for fantasy purposes for now.
