WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Josh Malone | Free Agent WR

The Jets have released Josh Malone.

Malone saw limited offensive snaps despite all the injuries for New York, so this doesn’t change the passing attack much from a fantasy perspective. Jamison Crowder and Jeff Smith project to be the top receivers for Joe Flacco on Sunday.

Josh Malone held without a catch in Week 17 loss.

He was targeted once. Malone is off the fantasy radar with just one reception in 2018.

Josh Malone (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 10.

Malone appears to have suffered a setback this week in practice, so he'll miss this Sunday against the Saints. This comes at a bad time with Malone set to potentially get a good number of snaps with A.J. Green (toe) out. With one reception this season, the second-year receiver from Tennessee doesn't have much value in standard leagues right now.

Josh Malone caught one pass in Sunday's loss to Carolina.

It went for 12 yards. Malone isn't a fantasy option as the Bengals' No. 4 receiver.

Josh Malone injures his ankle against the Ravens.

Malone didn't catch any passes in the Week 17 win, and the rookie's season ends with six receptions for 63 yards. The fourth-round receiver from Tennessee has a lot of talent, and he could be in store for a much bigger role in 2018. He's someone to keep an eye on, particularly in dynasty leagues.

Josh Malone gets one target in Week 14.

Malone didn't catch his lone target against the Bears. Though a good dynasty-league hold, Malone isn't a reliable fantasy option as a rookie.

Josh Malone catches two passes in Bengals' loss.

Malone gained nine yards on his two receptions. The rookie receiver is a very good dynasty league hold, but he's not a recommended option in fantasy lineups yet.

Josh Malone gets one target against the Titans

The rookie receiver's return to Tennessee, where he played college football at the University of Tennessee, didn't go as well as he would've liked. He had six-yard reception in the game, but didn't get opportunities in the passing game aside from that. Still, the future is bright for Malone and he's a good dynasty league hold.

Josh Malone catches one pass in Week 9.

Malone was targeted four times in the game, but the rookie receiver hauled in only one pass for 13 yards against the Jags. He's a very intriguing dynasty league prospect, but Malone isn't yet a fantasy option in 2017.

Josh Malone scores first career touchdown in Week 8.

The rookie from Tennessee had both his first NFL reception and touchdown in a win over the Colts, as he was a difference-maker in the close victory for Cincinnati. Malone caught two of three targets for 35 yards and a touchdown in the game, with the score coming on a post route for 25 yards. He's not a fantasy option yet, but Malone is a strong dynasty league hold.

Josh Malone catches three-of-four targets in second preseason game.

Malone had 35 yards on his three receptions. The rookie receiver out of Tennessee will almost certainly be on the roster spot, but he might struggle to get a ton of playing time in 2017. There are better late round targets in standard 10- and 12-team leagues than Malone.

Josh Malone catches touchdown in his first preseason game.

It was a good start for the rookie out of Tennessee. On his touchdown, he ran a quick post in the end zone to get pretty much wide open and score from eight yards. Malone had two receptions for 12 yards total. The talented receiver looks like he should be able to contribute quickly if called upon

Rookie receiver Josh Malone is drawing great reviews from the Bengals.

The fourth-round pick Malone is a big and athletic receiver that has 4.40 speed and was a great target for Joshua Dobbs at Tennessee last season. Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said Malone was someone they identified as underrated and wanted to get him in the draft, and receivers coach James Urban said Malone has been what they expected and "has some real ability." Malone says he's been following veterans A.J. Green and Brandon Lafell around, trying to learn from them. Malone is unlikely to make a big fantasy impact this season, but he's someone to watch. The Bengals are a very deep team at multiple positions.

The Bengals select Tennessee receiver Josh Malone with the 128th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Malone broke out during his junior season at Tennessee and became a very reliable target for quarterback Joshua Dobbs, catching 50 passes for 972 yards and 11 touchdowns. Malone has 4.4 speed to go along with his good size. With A.J. Green, Brandon Lafell, Tyler Boyd, John Ross, and now Josh Malone all included in the Bengals receiving corps, they have a lot of talent there.
