WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Mack Brown | Raiders RB

The Raiders signed Mack Brown.

Raiders head coach Jon Gruden is familiar with Brown, as the 27-year-old running back spent time with Jay Gruden and the Redskins. The former Florida Gator has played well when he's been given opportunities, but Oakland will be a tough roster to crack with a deep running back group including first-round pick Josh Jacobs.

The Vikings claimed RB Mack Brown, according to Adam Schefter.

It's not surprising to see Brown claimed, as he's a good runner that Washington just needed to waive to create roster space. Brown will fill in behind Latavius Murray and Jerick McKinnon in the backfield, and it's possible he's active against his former team in Week 10 after Minnesota's Week 9 bye.

Mack Brown | Raiders RB

The Redskins waived RB Mack Brown.

Washington needed to make room for an offensive lineman because they have some injuries at that position. The Redskins have Chris Thompson, Rob Kelley, and Samaje Perine all healthy at running back now, so Brown wasn't getting much work in the backfield. There will be other teams interested in him, and the Redskins would likely bring him back if they have a need at running back and he happens to be available.

Mack Brown gets three carries in Week 6.

Brown gained 17 yards on his three attempts and didn't have any receptions. He's a handcuff to Todd Gurley, who's been dominating work in the backfield.

Mack Brown | Raiders RB

Mack Brown gets three touches in Week 6.

Brown carried twice for two yards and had an 11-yard reception on his lone target in the game. He has ability, but Brown is behind Chris Thompson and Samaje Perine even when Rob Kelley is out. Brown doesn't need to be on fantasy rosters.

Mack Brown | Raiders RB

Mack Brown plays well in Week 3.

After rookie Samaje Perine left with an arm injury, Brown did some damage with his carries, carrying six times for 27 yards. It was later in the game after the defense was probably worn out and frustrated at getting blown out, but Brown did outperform the rookie. Keep an eye on the injuries in Washington's backfield, because Brown would be a FLEX option if Rob Kelley (rib) and Perine were to both miss time.

Mack Brown | Raiders RB

Mack Brown gets three carries in Week 3 of the preseason.

He had three carries for 13 yards and is ahead of Matt Jones in the Redskins backfield. He'll probably make the team as the fourth running back.

Mack Brown | Raiders RB

Mack Brown rushed four times for 13 yards in Thursday night's loss to Baltimore.

The coaching staff has been impressed by Brown in training camp, but he didn't really have a chance to get in a rhythm with the overall offensive struggles for Washington. Brown could start the season as Rob Kelley's backup if Samaje Perine isn't better over the next few weeks.

Redskins running back Mack Brown dropped six percent body fat.

The second-year back said he worked out with Falcons running back Tevin Coleman and Bills running back LeSean McCoy this offseason, which helped him get ready for camp. Working with Coleman and McCoy, two of the most explosive backs in the NFL, helped Brown himself become more explosive and faster; and he also made changes to his diet to help improve his body. Rob Kelley and Samaje Perine have been talked about most as the early-down backs for Washington, but Brown has reportedly had a good camp and can't be counted out.

Mack Brown breaks 61-yard touchdown in Redskins' blowout win.

With under a minute to go, Brown broke the big run. He had eight carries for 82 yards and the touchdown. He likely won't get much time next week against the Giants, but is someone to keep an eye on after his big preseason in the summer.
