WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Rashad Jennings | Retired RB

Rashad Jennings has announced his retirement from the NFL.

The announcement, which can be watched in the link below, makes it clear that Jennings is at peace with his decision to retire from the NFL. Jennings had a very solid seven seasons in the NFL, carrying 930 times for 3,772 rushing yards (4.1 yards per carry) and 23 rushing touchdowns along with 191 receptions for 1,469 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns. Jennings has already won "Dancing with the Stars", and it sounds like he won't have any trouble adjusting to life off the football field. We wish him the best of luck moving forward in life.

Rashad Jennings | Retired RB

The Giants have released Rashad Jennings, according to ESPN's Jordan Raanan.

Many in the fantasy community believed Jennings would be a solid RB2 when he signed with the Giants, but he didn't live up to expectations in his three years in New York. Jennings averaged just 3.3 yards per carry this season, and his best season with the Giants came in 2015 when he rushed for 863 yards and three touchdowns. New York will be looking for a running back this offseason, and could draft one in the first round of the NFL Draft this April. Adrian Peterson does not seem like a good fit if he were to become a free agent.

Rashad Jennings gets six touches in wild card game against GB.

Jennings had five carries for 29 yards and one reception for four yards. With one year remaining on his deal, Jennings seems likely to return to the Giants next season, but he likely won't be the lead back again.

Rashad Jennings | Retired RB

Rashad Jennings rushed 18 times for 52 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's win.

Jennings scored the touchdown, but Paul Perkins was much more effective and saw three more carries than the veteran. Jennings will finish the regular season with a mediocre 593 yards on 181 carries (3.3 YPC) and three touchdowns. The Giants should give Perkins all the work he can handle in the postseason.

Rashad Jennings | Retired RB

Rashad Jennings received only nine carries in Week 16.

Meanwhile, rookie Paul Perkins had 15 carries. Jennings was effective on his carries (nine for 44 yards) and should continue to get work along with Perkins. They're both just mediocre FLEX options in a split backfield in a bad offense.

Rashad Jennings | Retired RB

Rashad Jennings rushed 18 times for 38 yards in Sunday's win over the Lions.

Jennings has been ineffective in recent weeks, and the rookie Paul Perkins has looked good. New York could give Perkins more work starting this week against the Eagles, so Jennings is just a risky FLEX play for Week 16 in Philadelphia.

Rashad Jennings | Retired RB

Rashad Jennings gets 15 carries in Giants' win.

Jennings had 15 carries for 45 yards and two catches for 12 yards. Rookie running back Paul Perkins had the same exact rushing stats (15 carries for 45 yards). That's a split backfield if there ever was one. Jennings is an uninspiring fantasy option.

Rashad Jennings | Retired RB

Rashad Jennings rushed six times for 19 yards and caught six passes for 34 yards and a touchdown in the Giants' loss to the Steelers.

Jennings walked into the end zone on a well-executed screen pass but was quiet besides that. Rookie Paul Perkins outplayed him and looks like the better player. Jennings is just a weak FLEX for Week 14 against the Cowboys.

Rashad Jennings | Retired RB

Giants' run game disappoints in Week 12.

Rashad Jennings had 15 carries for only 55 yards against the Browns. After a good two week stretch, the Giants run game regressed back to its' early-season form. Jennings couldn't find any room to run against the 31st-ranked run defense of the Browns. Jennings is a FLEX option against the Steelers this week based off volume. It's anyone's guess as to how successful the Giants will be running the ball.

Rashad Jennings | Retired RB

Rashad Jennings goes over 85 yards for second consecutive week.

Jennings had 21 carries for 85 yards. He also had five catches for 44 yards. As long as Jennings keeps getting the ball 15-25 times per game, he will be a good RB2. Keep him in your lineup against the Browns in Week 12.

Rashad Jennings | Retired RB

Rashad Jennings gets 18 touches in Week 10.

Jennings looked good, gaining 87 yards on 15 carries while adding three catches for 22 yards. It was Jennings' best game of the season. Jennings isn't a good FLEX option this week against the Bears.
