Ryan Griffin | Buccaneers QB

The Buccaneers re-signed Ryan Griffin.

Griffin will now be going on his seventh season in Tampa Bay, and he's done very well to stick around in the league for so long after going undrafted in 2013. Griffin's re-signing makes him the only quarterback behind Tom Brady on the Bucs depth chart as things currently stand.

The Buccaneers re-signed quarterback Ryan Griffin, according to Rick Stroud.

Griffin has been the team's No. 3 quarterback, but he could potentially be promoted to Jameis Winston's backup if the Bucs don't add significant competition through the draft. Despite being set to turn 30 in November, Griffin has yet to appear in a regular season game, and Tampa Bay would ideally keep it that way if Winston can finally breakout under Bruce Arians.

Ryan Griffin has been activated to the Buccaneers active roster.

With Jameis Winston out a few weeks, Griffin will now backup Ryan Fitzpatrick. If you watched HBO's 'Hard Knocks', you know Griffin injured his shoulder during the preseason and was placed on Injured Reserve. Ideally, Griffin won't have to make starts this season, but he does have good ability—it's why Tampa Bay wanted to keep him around after the injury.

The Buccaneers signed quarterback Ryan Griffin to a one-year extension.

If you've been watching HBO's 'Hard Knocks,' you know Griffin currently has a shoulder sprain that's kept him out for a few weeks. But Tampa Bay likes Griffin and is extending him through 2018, so he'll continue to be one of the backups behind Jameis Winston. Griffin might be the primary backup over veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick when he returns from his shoulder injury.

Bucs QB Ryan Griffin is out multiple weeks with a shoulder injury.

Head coach Dirk Koetter said Griffin has a sprain in his AC joint. Griffin was competing for the backup job behind Jameis Winston and this is a tough break for him. We should get an inside look at Griffin's reaction to being out for several weeks on this Tuesday's episode of HBO's "Hard Knocks". Tampa Bay will probably look for another quarterback to bring in to help with numbers in practice.

Ryan Griffin injures shoulder in preseason opener.

Griffin was 4/9 for 57 yards before exiting the game. Battling with Ryan Fitzpatrick for the backup quarterback job, this couldn't have come at a worse time for the 27-year-old. Hopefully it isn't a serious injury and he will be able to get back on the field and compete; Griffin is said to be the slight favorite over Fitzpatrick, whom struggled last night.
