WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

The Jets placed Ryan Griffin on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

The Jets haven't gotten a ton of receiving production from their tight ends this season, so this doesn't have an impact from a fantasy perspective. But we hope Griffin is feeling better soon if he did contract the virus as opposed to being a high-risk close contact.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

The Jets activated Ryan Griffin (ankle) off the PUP list.

Griffin is on the active roster and practicing with the team today. After a strong stretch before his ankle injury last season, the veteran tight end will fill the No. 2 tight end role complementing Chris Herndon this year.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

The Jets placed Ryan Griffin on the PUP list.

Griffin is coming off a season-ending ankle injury in 2019, and he's not quite ready for the start of training camp. Hopefully the veteran tight end gets cleared soon, but keep in mind that camp ramps up and is starting more slowly than is typical due to COVID-19.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

The Jets picked up Ryan Griffin's option.

This was fully expected after Griffin signed an extension during last season. Griffin's year ended with him being placed on injured reserve, but he should be ready to go as a solid contributor to the Jets offense in 2020.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

The Jets placed Ryan Griffin (ankle) on injured reserve.

Griffin’s nice season ends with 34 receptions for 320 yards and five touchdowns in 13 games, and he earned a contract extension with his play. While he had some TE1 weeks this year, Griffin is a better real-life asset for the Jets than he is a long-term fantasy TE1.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin (ankle) has been ruled out for Thursday night.

Griffin isn't ready to go on a short week, which could mean more work for Jets receivers Jamison Crowder, Robby Anderson, and Demaryius Thomas tomorrow night against the Ravens. Hopefully Griffin can get back on the field for Week 16.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin (ankle) is doubtful to return for the Jets.

Griffin had one reception for eight yards before leaving today's game, and it's highly unlikely that he returns following the doubtful designation. We'll let you know if Griffin happens to return, but expect him to be out for the rest of today.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

The Jets signed Ryan Griffin to a contract extension.

The team just announced a multi-year extension for the 29-year-old tight end. Griffin has started all ten games this season, with Chris Herndon basically missing all year because of a suspension and injuries, and he's caught 25 passes for 225 yards and a team-leading four touchdowns. Griffin has at least 50 yards in three of the past four games, including a 5/109/1 game last week against the Redskins.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

The Jets are signing Ryan Griffin, according to Mike Garafolo.

Griffin caught 24 passes for 305 yards last year in Houston, but was released this offseason. He will have a chance to immediately step in as a contributor for the first month of the season as Chris Herndon serves a four-game suspension, but Griffin probably won’t be a recommended fantasy option.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin was arrested for vandalism and public intoxication.

Police reports say that Griffin destroyed a Nashville hotel window. It sounds like Griffin drank too much, which is no excuse for his behavior. The Texans drafted two tight ends last year and another last night, so Griffin's standing with the team is likely strained after this incident. Don't be surprised if he's released this weekend. Discipline from the league could also be coming.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin catches one pass in playoff loss to the Colts.

It went for six yards. Griffin saw a healthy five targets in a 21-7 defeat, but Houston struggled to do much of anything offensively. The veteran is under contract with one more season and should be back in 2019, but he won't be on the fantasy radar in drafts next summer.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin catches one pass in Week 17.

Griffin gained eight yards on his lone reception versus Jacksonville. Griffin's regular season ends with 24 receptions for 305 yards, and he'll now face the Colts in the postseason.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin catches two passes against the Eagles.

Griffin gained 15 yards on his two receptions, including taking a big helmet-to-helmet hit in the Week 16 loss. Griffin appeared to be OK thankfully, and hopefully he's feeling fine moving forward.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin targeted once in win over the Jets.

It was a reception that lost a yard. Griffin won't be a recommended fantasy option next week as the splits time at tight end.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin caught five passes for 80 yards in Sunday's loss to the Colts.

Griffin led the team in receiving as he caught all five of his targets, but the performance shouldn't suddenly boost him into streaming consideration for Week 15. Perhaps the 28-year-old will build on something next Saturday against the Jets, but fantasy owners should look elsewhere in all formats.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin catches one pass in Week 13 win.

It went for 12 yards. Griffin isn't a recommended fantasy option as he splits time with Jordan Thomas and Jordan Akins.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin caught three passes for 38 yards in Monday night's win over the Titans.

The 28-year-old was targeted four times, but he isn't a recommended fantasy option down the stretch, including next week against the Browns.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin caught one pass in Sunday's win over the Broncos.

It went for 13 yards. Griffin won't be a recommended TE2 when Houston returns from their Week 10 bye to face the Redskins.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin (illness) is out for Week 7.

It's unclear what type of illness Griffin is dealing with, but we hope he's feeling better soon. Rookies Jordan Akins and Jordan Thomas will handle most of the work at tight end for the Texans this week.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin held without a catch in win over the Bills.

Griffin was second on the team with five targets, but Houston's passing attack struggled in a 20-13 victory. The veteran won't be a recommended fantasy option against the Jaguars next Sunday.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin catches six passes against the Cowboys.

Griffin's nine targets were behind only DeAndre Hopkins, and he gained 65 yards on his six receptions. He was a reliable target for Deshaun Watson on quick passes where he made himself available for solid gains to stay ahead of the chains. Griffin is more of a real-life asset than fantasy asset.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin catches one pass in Week 4.

Griffing gained 12 yards on his lone reception against the Colts. He's not a fantasy option at the moment.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin catches two passes against the Giants.

The Texans were able to have some success attack the Giants defense with their tight ends, and Griffin gained 44 yards on his two receptions. Griffin is not a reliable fantasy option in a crowded tight end group.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin catches one pass in Week 2.

Griffin gained 19 yards on his lone reception against the Titans. He's not a reliable fantasy option at the moment.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

The Texans placed TE Ryan Griffin on Injured Reserve.

Griffin has unfortunately been dealing with concussions this season, and now he's out for the year. The 27-year-old tight end had 13 receptions for 158 yards and a touchdown in his six games this season. Concussions are obviously no joke, so hopefully Griffin starts feeling better soon and is 100% for next year.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin is out with a concussion.

Griffin was questionable to return, but he presumably did not pass concussion protocol. He didn't have any reception before leaving. Griffin has dealt with concussion issues throughout the year, so this might be a length absence. Hopefully Griffin is OK.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin gets two targets in Week 8.

He caught one pass for ten yards against the Seahawks. Griffin isn't a recommended fantasy option right now, as he has a low floor.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin caught three passes for 52 yards in Sunday's win over the Browns.

Griffin was a recommended streaming option in a tremendous matchup, and he put in a solid effort for fantasy owners, especially with Houston playing ahead all game. He can go back to the waiver wire heading into a matchup with the Seahawks next Sunday.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin caught two passes for 22 yards in Sunday night's loss to Kansas City.

Griffin split time at tight end with Stephen Anderson, who led the team with 63 receiving yards. The pair get a tremendous matchup against the Browns next Sunday, and Griffin is probably the better fantasy option.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin catches two passes in Week 4.

He was targeted five times, but only gained 13 yards on his two receptions. Griffin will have some good weeks, but he's not a reliable fantasy option.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin scores in Week 3 loss.

The Texans tight end played very well against the Pats after missing Week 2 with a concussion, grabbing five of six targets for 61 yards and a touchdown. The score came late in the game, as he made a nice catch on a beautiful back-shoulder throw from Deshaun Watson to the back of the end zone. Griffin and Watson look to have a nice connection based off this game, so Griffin is worth a look if you're struggling at tight end.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin passed concussion protocol.

He missed last Thursday's game wit ha concussion, but Griffin was a full participant in today's practice and is ready to go for Sunday against New England, barring a setback. Griffin will be the top tight end option for rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson, but there are probably better fantasy options available.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Texans TE Ryan Griffin (concussion) will not play in Week 2.

The Texans have four guys with concussions, and they've all been ruled out for tomorrow night's game against the Bengals. Fellow tight end Stephen Anderson is also out with a concussion, and starter C.J. Fiedorowicz is on IR with his concussion. The Texans have to call up Evan Baylis from the practice squad, and they'll probably sign (or trade for) someone for tomorrow night's game as well. This is less than ideal for rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson's first start.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin re-signs with Texans for three years, according to John McClain.

Griffin came on strong towards the end of the season for Houston, but he won't be a recommended fantasy option next season behind C.J. Fiedorowicz.

Ryan Griffin gets involved early for Houston.

Griffin had three receptions for 29 yards, with them all coming early in the game. Brock Osweiler seemed comfortable throwing to his tight ends and will likely do the same next weekend.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin caught eight-of-eight targets in Sunday's win over the Jaguars.

Griffin took advantage of his opportunity with C.J. Fiedorowicz (concussion) out of the lineup and finished second on the team with 85 yards. If Fiedorowicz is back, Griffin will not be a fantasy option on Christmas Eve against the Bengals, but he would be a TE1 option if he gets another start.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin scores in Texans' L.

Griffin had four catches for 35 yards and a touchdown against the Packers. Griffin also lost a fumble. He's been very involved for a second string tight end, but is not a good fantasy option.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin caught four of five targets for 36 yards in Sunday's loss.

He is not a realistic fantasy option behind C.J. Fiedorowicz for targets in a bad Houston offense.

Ryan Griffin | Bears TE

Ryan Griffin secures one of the Texans' two touchdowns in win over Jaguars.

Griffin had three catches for seven yards and the touchdown. Griffin has 27 catches on the year and has been a contributor for Houston, but he's not a fantasy option at the moment.
