Stay on alert, as there appears to be a good chance the 2024 NFL schedule is released this week. It’s been teased multiple places and typically releases around this time in May. As we look ahead to the season opener on Thursday, September 5, these are the potential opponents for the two-time defending champion Chiefs:
- Baltimore Ravens
- Cincinnati Bengals
- Denver Broncos
- Houston Texans
- Las Vegas Raiders
- Los Angeles Chargers
- New Orleans Saints
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers
OBJ headlines recent transactions
Odell Beckham Jr. signed with the Dolphins on a one-year deal. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, he’s apparently big on the idea that Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel will get him the ball. Other recent moves include:
- The Chargers signed wide receiver DJ Chark.
- The Bills signed linebacker Deion Jones, defensive lineman Dawuane Smoot, and wide receiver Chase Claypool.
- The Panthers signed running back Rashaad Penny.
- The Rams signed running back Boston Scott.
- The Raiders signed offensive lineman Andrus Peat, receiver Michael Gallup, and receiver Jaylen Guyton.
- The Giants signed defensive back David Long Jr.
- The Jaguars released wide receiver Zay Jones.
Fifth-year options
Two more fifth-year options were exercised ahead of last week’s deadline: Browns cornerback Greg Newsome II and Ravens outside linebacker Odafe Oweh.

Jersey number news:
- Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott will wear No. 15 in his second stint with the team after wearing No. 21 to begin his career. Zeke wore No. 15 at Ohio State and last year with the Patriots.
- Eagles rookie linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. will wear the No. 54 that his father wore for the franchise.
- Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson has switched from No. 33 to No. 1.
The NFL’s lead attorney Jeff Pash is retiring after nearly 40 years.
