A scary amount of candy will be consumed on Halloween, and almost everyone has their share of favorites. We’ve gathered the top ten for this week’s Halloween Edition of Top Ten Tuesday, but feel free to debate and share your thoughts.
10. Twix
There’s the heated debate between Left Twix and Right Twix, but both are good. Twix is one of the most unique-tasting candies, with its mix of biscuit/cookie with caramel inside the chocolate.
9. Skittles
Skittles aren’t too flashy, but they get the job done as a fruit-flavored candy with the trademark letter S. Based off taste, these are probably the sugariest on the list—which might not necessarily be a good thing.
8. Snickers
You’ve probably seen the commercials, and while Snickers might not be a meal replacement, the combination of peanuts, caramel, and chocolate can satisfy hunger a little bit. Snickers is basic, but good.
7. Candy Corn
Among all the candies, there might not be one more highly-debated than candy corn. Over the last few years, there has been an all-out assault on candy corn from the media, but they remain strong and have their share of supporters. You love candy corn, or you hate it.
6. Butterfingers
Butterfingers went right at candy corn on Twitter yesterday, and they have the power to do it. This powerhouse candy has a crispy core of peanut butter, and it has one of the best names out there.
5. M&M’s
Because of the variety of types—including the peanut M&M, which has major standalone value—M&M’s belong in the top five. They also have the personable M&M mascots, a major plus.
4. Hershey bar
“The Great American Chocolate Bar” needs to be near the top of the list. When most people think “chocolate bar,” they think of Hershey’s. From original milk chocolate to the spectacular Hershey’s Special Dark, it’ll always be a classic.
3. 3 Musketeers
The 3 Musketeers is different than most of its friendly candy cousins, as it has a fluffy marshmallowy center. It should be in the top five or six, and it’s fitting that 3 Musketeers takes the number three spot in the list.
2. Reese’s
While Hershey’s has the classic Hershey bar, the Reese’s is a true flagship of its own. Reese’s have the perfect blend of chocolate and peanut butter, and there’s a reason they are the highest-selling candy in the U.S.
1. Kit Kat
Kit Kat has many different flavors, a catchy tagline, and—most importantly—a great smooth yet crunchy taste, but an underrated part about it is the sharing aspect. A group of people can easily share a Kit Kat by simply breaking off a piece of it. So all that combined puts it in the number one spot for Halloween candies.
