In honor of Tom Brady releasing his first book, The TB12 Method: How to Achieve a Lifetime of Peak Performance, today, we’ve gathered some of the top meals the five-time Super Bowl champion likes to eat. These all come straight from Brady’s previously-released TB12 Nutrition Manual, which is available from Brady’s TB12 official store.
The cornerstone of the TB12 Method is pliability, which Brady and his team believe helps prevent injuries as well as recover from injuries. Nutrition is a big part of that, and Brady’s super-strict diet keeps down inflammation to allow him to reach peak performance.
Obviously, this diet might not be for everyone, and it does take a lot of time to prepare most of the meals. But it’s hard to deny it’s working for Brady. These are just ten of the 89 recipes available in the TB12 Nutrition Manual (with more to come, as it’s called a “living document”), and there are also TB12 Snacks and TB12 Performance Meals.
10. Spring Salad with Mustard Caper Vinaigrette
The TB12 diet includes a lot of vegetables, as the TB12 nutrition philosophy recommends eating a variety of organic whole foods. This is just one of the number of salads, but it is one of the most balanced and gets you a ton of Vitamin A.
9. Taco Night
This isn’t an actual taco, but it still looks great. It’s really a taco bowl, and it includes chicken, salsa, and guacamole. Taco Night gets you a whopping 64 grams of protein.
8. Green Wrap
Green Wrap is as it sounds—a leafy wrap filled with vegetables. But it also includes mung bean hummus and walnut meat. People that love wraps will probably love the Green Wrap too.
7. Salmon Burger with Avocado and Fries
Yeah, the TB12 nutrition philosophy includes fries. Of course, they are baked instead of fried, but they look just like homemade French fries. The salmon burger and avocado make this a well-rounded meal that should be one of the first you try if making the switch from fast food to healthy food.
6. Spring Rolls with Creamy Ponzu
Eastern cuisine is of course a part of the diet, and spring rolls are a big part of Chinese eating. Along with the creamy ponzu, these spring rolls looks just as appetizing as any.
5. Homestyle Lasagna
This might be the preferred choice for a Christmas dinner of all the options in the TB12 Nutrition Manual. Homestyle Lasagna is vegetable-based, but it’s described as having “the same great flavors” as normal lasagna—and it even has tomato sauce.
4. Green Steak and Rice Burrito
Those looking for beef in the TB12 diet will find it with the Green Steak and Rice Burrito. This vegetable-based wrap makes sure you get your greens while you can also enjoy some steak. Other meats can also be substituted in the burrito.
3. TB12 Bowl
It’s only right the recipe titled “TB12 Bowl” gets one of the top spots on the list. The TB12 Bowl includes a lot of variety and gets you a ton of Vitamin A and Vitamin C.
2. Holidays & Desserts
Most people know about Brady’s avocado ice cream, but there are several desserts available—and they all look good. Chocolate Cake and Cheesecake are even two of the options. And the section in the TB12 Nutrition Manual is called “Holidays and Desserts,” which is great.
1. Smoothies & Green Juice
The number one spot on the list is an easy one. There are four different smoothie options—with blueberry among them—and a green juice recipe. Brady typically has a smoothie for breakfast, and it’s also great for after a workout. These could easily become a part of your daily routine.
