It’s taken a little longer than people would have liked, but 2K Sports put out some NBA 2K18 info today–and fans of the franchise should be very excited.
The most notable addition to NBA 2K18 is the new MyGM structure. While the mode has been the deepest a sports game has ever seen for the last few years, it should have some character/heart this time around. Here is what the blog released today says about the mode:
MyGM: The Next Chapter
Not that long ago, you were one of the brightest stars in the NBA. Personal accomplishments long since satisfied, all that mattered to you was getting another ring. On a warm, May night at the 2011 Western Conference Finals in Dallas, it all came to a sudden end. Your knee, it was finished. Now what?Fast forward six years and you find yourself at the outset of MyGM: The Next Chapter. After a number of interviews over the last couple years, you have just landed a job as the GM of an NBA team. Widely respected for your on-court success, you have finally found an owner that believes the very drive that propelled you to the top of the NBA will help you propel his team to an NBA title.
The blog goes on to explain a lot more in-depth about the mode including some screenshots of dialogue with players like Joel Embiid.
If you don’t like what you hear, that’s alright, too, as MyLeague will basically give you the classic MyGM experience. Plus, the story aspects in MyGM won’t pigeonhole you into a situation or influence your decision-making in a way that won’t allow you to build the team they way you want.
