Anthony Davis Is The ‘NBA 2K20’ Cover Athlete, Dwyane Wade On ‘Legend Edition’

One day after a crazy start to the 2019 NBA offseason, the next cover athletes for the popular NBA 2K video game series are known. New Lakers star Anthony Davis will be on the cover of NBA 2K20, headlining the “Standard Edition” and “Digital Deluxe Editions” of the game. As was previously leaked, Dwayne Wade will officially be on the cover of the “Legend Edition”.

Davis was previously on the cover of NBA 2K16 along with Stephen Curry and James Harden, including with copies that included just him on the cover. So this is his second go-around as a 2K cover athlete, which is a bit of a surprise in a league with so many other great players that are potential options. Perhaps fellow two-time NBA 2K cover athlete LeBron James pulled some strings to get Davis back on the cover as part of Davis giving up his $4 million trade kicker to create more cap space for the Lakers.

It doesn’t look like Davis is even donning his new Lakers gear in the cover, but—judging by the backgrounds of both covers—it appears 2K is going to focus more on MyPark this year.

Each edition of the game gives different bonuses for pre-ordering, with the Standard Edition costing $59.99, the Digital Deluxe Edition costing $79.99, and the Legend Edition costing $99.99.

NBA 2K20 releases on September 6.
