EA Reveals ‘Battlefield V’ With Trailer, Announce No Premium Content

Today, EA revealed more information about Battlefield V, and there’s a lot to like. They had a live reveal stream that went on for nearly an hour and a half, but the trailer is what a lot of people were waiting for. [NOTE: This trailer is violent and NSFW.]

It’s unclear what game mode (if any) the trailer is showcasing for the first minute, but it looks like it might be a “battle royale” style of play that has become so popular with PUBG and Fortnite. Then, it appears to jump into a mission in single player mode, but it gives a good indication of what multiplayer will look like.

The first thing that stands out is the graphics for the game look stunning. With 4K gaming on the Xbox One X in particular, you are going to get some life-like characters and settings on high-end televisions. The other thing that stands out is the game seems to be as chaotic and realistic as ever, and the new Grand Operations game mode will be huge and crazy.

The customization also looks great, as characters, weapons, and even the battlefield itself can be changed. It looks like people can develop a more unique style of play more so than usual, as it gets deeper than selecting a type of class.

Finally, the best news of all for many is that there is no premium content for for Battlefield V. Maps will be free, and there isn’t a play-to-win system that the majority of people do not like. After EA came under fire for their loot box controversy from last year’s Star Wars Battlefront II, this is not at all surprising.

Battlefield V will be available for everyone on October 19. Those that order the Deluxe Version of Battlefield V will be able to play on October 16. And those with EA Access will be able to play on October 11.
