LG OLED C8 Televisions Keep Dropping Down To Lowest-Ever Prices On Amazon

Editor’s Note: White Wolf previously reported the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup will be in 4K on DIRECTV this summer. To watch the event in ultra-high-definition, you’ll need a 4K-capable DIRECTV box and programming package, along with a 4K television. LG OLEDs offer among the best picture quality available, and they’re at all-time low prices on Amazon.com. White Wolf may earn from qualifying purchases.

You might have been in the market for a new television ahead of Super Bowl Sunday earlier this month, but those that didn’t pull the trigger might benefit in a big way. The LG OLED C8 had a huge decrease in price at Amazon.com over the weekend, dropping to all-time lows—and the price continues to drop.

At the time of this publication, the 55-inch C8 is down to $1,397.33. It’s even a slightly lower price from other sellers which are still “Fulfilled by Amazon” and authorized LG dealers (like Vanns and Video & Audio Center). The price has been steadily dropping for both third-party and directly from Amazon.com, so it might be even lower by the time you read this.

Meanwhile, the 65-inch C8 is down to $1,965.46 on Amazon.com at the time of this publication. The price had a sudden drop to $2,049.99 over the weekend, and it keeps dropping lower and lower (it’s happened multiple times), so there’s a chance this isn’t even the bottom price yet. However, there’s a chance the price rockets back up to around $2,700 at any moment, as no other authorized dealers are offering prices below that mark directly from their sites—it almost makes this Amazon.com offer feel like a glitch in the system, but it clearly isn’t or else it would’ve been fixed by now.

[UPDATE: Best Buy is among the other places that have now also dropped the price below $2,000, though it’s unclear if it’s temporary.]

Also, if you have an Amazon Prime Visa Rewards Card and use it on the purchase of an LG OLED C8, you get an additional 10% back on the TV: 5% as usual with the Amazon Prime Visa Rewards Card, and another 5% back because there’s a Prime Rewards Card promotion on the C8 running through May 31.

For the 65-inch C8, the previous $2,700 price (which is still currently the price from other authorized dealers) was already $300 off, so this sub-$2,000 price is over $1,000 off the MSRP of $2,999.99.

Keep in mind the LG OLED C9—along with the B9, E9, W9, R9 (rollable TV), and Z9 (8K TV)—are all just around the corner and offer HDMI 2.1, which might be worth it for gamers in particular. But now looks like a great time to get the television that offers the best picture quality available from a reputable, consumer-friendly place (Amazon) at a price that isn’t being matched by other authorized dealers.
