Cody Kessler | Free Agent QB

Cody Kessler is starting for the Jaguars this Sunday.

This comes on the heels of Jacksonville firing offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett. The offense just hasn’t been getting it done with Blake Bortles under-center, so Doug Marrone is going with Kessler, who has played very well when given opportunities through three seasons. As a rookie in a terrible situation in Cleveland, Kessler threw six touchdowns and two interceptions in nine games while avoiding mistakes and helping keep a bad team in games. Then last season, the Browns were set on going with DeShone Kizer as the team’s starter, relegating Kessler to third on the depth chart and seemingly not giving him a fair shot. Kessler played well when he entered the game and faced the Texans for a struggling Bortles in Week 7, and he has a chance to give the offense a major boost down the stretch. This could be an audition for the former USC product to potentially be the team’s quarterback in 2019. Kessler isn’t a recommended fantasy pickup yet, but he could give a boost to Jacksonville’s skill players.

DeSean Jackson | Retired WR

DeSean Jackson is getting a second opinion on his thumb.

Jackson’s thumb was re-examined today after he played in yesterday’s game, so getting a second opinion might not be a great sign. More information should become available in the next couple of days on Jackson’s status, but Chris Godwin and Adam Humphries would get more playing time if the veteran receiver misses time.

Melvin Gordon III | Free Agent RB

The Chargers say Melvin Gordon (knee) is officially week-to-week.

The team announced that the MRI showed Gordon has an MCL sprain, which had previously been reported, and that he will be “evaluated week-to-week.” Gordon is almost certainly set to miss this Sunday night against the Steelers, and he’ll probably miss Week 14, too. But Gordon is one of the NFL’s toughest running backs; it would not be surprising to see him back on the field in Week 15—particularly because it’s a matchup against the Chiefs that could determine first place in the AFC West. Fantasy owners should hope for a Week 15 return and take an earlier return as a major bonus, and Gordon obviously should not be dropped from fantasy rosters.

Laquon Treadwell | Colts WR

Laquon Treadwell catches one pass in Vikings’ win.

Treadwell gained six yards on his lone reception versus the Packers. He had a drop on a slant route, but he didn’t appear to dwell on it, which is good to see. The former first-round pick isn’t a recommended fantasy option right now.

Aldrick Robinson | Free Agent WR

Aldrick Robinson catches one pass against the Packers.

Robinson gained 11 yards on his lone reception in the Vikings’ win. The veteran receiver is a better real-life contributor than fantasy option.

11/26/18 - 01:04 PM ET

Kyle Rudolph | Retired TE

Kyle Rudolph catches seven passes in Vikings’ win.

Rudolph was a very reliable target for Kirk Cousins throughout the night, catching all seven of his targets for 63 yards. This was Rudolph’s highest receiving total since Week 2 (also against the Packers), so he hasn’t been a great fantasy option in an offense running through the wide receivers.

11/26/18 - 01:04 PM ET

C.J. Ham | Vikings FB

C.J. Ham gets two touches in Week 12.

Ham received one carry for no yards and caught one pass for 13 yards against the Packers. Minnesota’s fullback is not a fantasy option.
