Ryan Fitzpatrick leads Tampa Bay to second-half comeback, but Bengals win 37-34 on last-second field goal.

Replacing an ineffective Jameis Winston after his fourth interception, Fitzpatrick completed 11/15 passes for 194 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions, also adding an 18-yard rush. The 35-year-old was simply on fire the moment he stepped on the field, getting the Bucs in field goal range on his first drive, and then connecting with Mike Evans for a 72-yard bomb before orchestrating a game-tying touchdown drive with just over three minutes to go. On that final offensive drive, Fitz took the team 88 yards in 12 plays, which was finished off with an 18-yard score to O.J. Howard and a clutch two-point conversion to Chris Godwin. Tampa Bay might not make their quarterback decision until later in the week, but it’s difficult to see how Dirk Koetter can keep the locker room if he goes away from the veteran. Fitzpatrick would be back on the streaming radar for a potential shootout against Carolina next Sunday if given the start.

Zay Jones catches six passes against the Patriots.

Jones gained 55 yards on his six receptions in the Week 8 loss, as he was a reliable target for veteran quarterback Derek Anderson throughout the night. Jones appeared to be open on a deep ball off a play-action in the game, but Anderson was pressured and didn’t have time to get it to him. The second-year receiver is not a recommended fantasy option right now.

Evan Engram scores in Giants’ loss.

Engram caught five passes for 25 yards and a touchdown, with the score coming late in the fourth quarter with the game basically in-hand for the Redskins. The second-year tight end now has a bye before facing the Niners in a couple of Mondays.

Cordarrelle Patterson handles double-digit carries in Week 8 win.

Operating as mostly a running back with Sony Michel (knee) out, Patterson rushed ten times for 38 yards and wasn’t targeted in the passing game. New England came into the game with two running backs active, but it was still slightly surprising to see their all-star returner lead the team in carries. If Michel misses another game, Patterson will probably have a similar role next Sunday night against the Packers, so he’s worth a look in all formats.

Sterling Shepard catches four passes against the Redskins.

Shepard gained 34 yards on his four receptions (eight targets) in the Giants’ Week 8 loss. At the midway point in the season, Shepard is on pace for 80 receptions, 1,084 yards, and four touchdowns, and his current 13.6 yards per reception is the best of his career.

LeSean McCoy totals 95 yards in Bills’ loss.

The Patriots shut down McCoy in the running game, which was rather predictable given New England’s ability to take away the go-to of opposing offenses. The veteran running back carried 12 times for 13 yards, with his effective runs coming on the team’s first drive from the wildcat formation. McCoy also had six receptions for 82 yards, making it a productive night for fantasy owners. Assuming he doesn’t get traded tomorrow, McCoy faces the Bears in Week 9.

Jarius Wright caught two passes for five yards in Sunday’s win over the Ravens.

Wright was target three times as Carolina spread the ball around, but the veteran is a better real life option than fantasy option heading into a matchup against Tampa Bay.
