Join now >Christian McCaffrey handles 30 touches in career day.
McCaffrey rushed 28 times for 184 yards in Carolina’s 31-21 win over the Bengals, also adding two receptions for ten yards. The Panthers realized they should commit to McCaffrey after their loss to Atlanta last week, and he didn’t disappoint as he accounted for over half of the team’s total yards. We think Run CMC is more than capable of handling a heavy weekly workload, but he gets to rest with a bye before taking on the Giants in Week 5. He’s an RB1 in all formats.

Josh Adams plays well in his NFL debut.
After getting called up from the practice squad earlier in the week, Adams received a good amount of work with Jay Ajayi (back) out, carrying six times for 30 yards. The undrafted rookie from Notre Dame showed flashes that made him a Heisman Trophy candidate for much of last season, as he gets downhill for positive yardage if the holes are there. We’ll see what happens with Adams if Ajayi is back healthy for Week 4.

Corey Clement gets 19 touches in Eagles’ win.
Wendell Smallwood surprisingly drew the start for the Eagles, but Clement led the backfield in touches. However, Smallwood was able to cash in on a touchdown deep in the red zone, and Smallwood also had three receptions in the game. Overall, Clement played OK against a Colts defense that played tough, carrying 16 times for 56 yards along with three receptions for 14 yards—though he did put the ball on the ground twice. Clement will become more of just a FLEX option if Jay Ajayi and Darren Sproles return in Week 4.

Cam Newton scores four total touchdowns as Carolina beats Cincinnati, 31-21.
Newton was 15/24 for 150 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions, also adding ten carries for 36 yards and two scores. Cam’s first score came from two yards away in the first quarter, and then he tossed touchdowns to Devin Funchess (four yards) and C.J. Anderson (24 yards) in the second quarter before finishing things off with a five-yard run in the third quarter. Carolina’s offensive has looked really good under Norv Turner to start the year, and Newton heads into the bye with 24.3 fantasy points per game. He will be an obvious QB1 with immense upside in Week 5 against the Giants.

Wendell Smallwood scores in Week 3.
With Jay Ajayi (back) out, Smallwood drew the start for the Eagles, and he ran well throughout the game. Smallwood had ten carries for 56 yards and a touchdown and added three receptions for 35 yards. Those that took a chance on Smallwood had it pay off, as he received 13 touches and a score while working with Corey Clement and Josh Adams in the backfield. Smallwood would be in the FLEX conversation for Week 4 if Ajay and Darren Sproles miss more time.

Carson Wentz starts hot in his return to the field.
In Wentz’s first game since he tore his ACL in Week 14 of last season before Philadelphia’s Super Bowl run, he played well and didn’t show any limitations with his knee. Wentz led the Eagles down the field for a touchdown on his first drive of the year, hitting a wide-open Dallas Goedert for a 13-yard touchdown. Wentz was sacked five times in the game, as the Colts did a really nice job of pressuring Wentz while under control—but the athletic quarterback made his share of highlight plays. Overall, Wentz was 25/37 for 255 yards, two touchdowns, one interception, and one fumble lost on a strip sack along with three carries for ten yards. Next week against the Titans is no easy matchup, but Wentz offers obvious high-end QB1 upside for Week 4.

Josh Malone caught one pass in Sunday’s loss to Carolina.
It went for 12 yards. Malone isn’t a fantasy option as the Bengals’ No. 4 receiver.
