Join now >Emmanuel Sanders (foot) is active for the opener.
Sanders will make his team debut today against one of his former teams (Pittsburgh), and he should be viewed as an upside FLEX catching passes from Josh Allen. Buffalo will again be a very pass-happy team in 2021—and there’s even more reason to believe that with Zack Moss inactive.

Austin Ekeler (hamstring) officially active for Week 1.
Ekeler was thought to be trending in this direction, and he’ll be in the lineup today. Fantasy owners need to keep him in lineups as at least a high-end RB2, but it will be interesting to see if they limit his workload, and the matchup is a difficult one versus Washington.

Trey Sermon a surprise inactive for Week 1.
It sounds like Sermon might be a healthy scratch with no injury of note, so this is a shocker to start the season. Raheem Mostert was already a borderline RB1/RB2 play against Detroit, and he should be fed with JaMycal Hasty and Elijah Mitchell mixing in behind him. Hopefully we get some clarity on the reason Sermon is inactive, as he did nothing to suggest cause for concern in preseason action.

Keelan Cole (knee) inactive for Week 1.
With Jamison Crowder also out, the Jets will rely on Elijah Moore for a huge role in his debut, and this also gives Denzel Mims a great chance to prove himself. Moore in particular is a great FLEX option.
9/12/21 - 11:37 AM ET
Zack Moss is a healthy scratch for Week 1.
This is a major surprise with Moss thought to be a better draft option than Devin Singletary by the consensus, but he is looking like the No. 3 and will be out due to a lack of special teams value—unless it’s some sort of team-imposed discipline this week. Devin Singletary’s FLEX value should get a decent boost, and Matt Breida is suddenly a worthwhile play in deeper leagues.

The Patriots placed Malcolm Perry (foot) on injured reserve.
Perry will now be out for at least three weeks. The versatile former Navy quarterback is off the fantasy radar for now, but he’ll look to return and make an impact for the Patriots in real life.

The 49ers placed Jalen Hurd (knee) on injured reserve.
Hurd was able to stay healthy enough to make the final roster for the Niners, but unfortunately he’s still struggling with injuries and will now miss at least three games while on injured reserve. Hopefully the former third-round pick can get back to 100% soon.
