Trenton Cannon | Free Agent RB

The Ravens signed Trenton Cannon.

Cannon will help fill the No. 3 running back role immediately, but his biggest role for the Ravens will likely come on special teams. With Le’Veon Bell likely to get called up to the active roster at some point, Cannon is not a highly recommended fantasy add.

Danny Amendola | Retired WR

The Texans are signing Danny Amendola.

Amendola is 35 years old, but he’ll be joining his seventh NFL team in what’s been a lengthy and strong career as an “undersized” player. Joining this close to the season, Amendola will quickly look to work his way into a role in the Houston offense.

Le'Veon Bell | Free Agent RB

The Ravens are signing Le’Veon Bell to the practice squad, according to multiple reports.

Bell is fully expected to be brought up to the active roster when he gets back into the swing of things and learns the playbook. The former Steelers All-Pro now joins the division rival Ravens after negotiating with them a few years ago when he hit free agency, and he’ll help round out the backfield after the season-ending injuries to J.K. Dobbins and Justice Hill. The receiving upside for Bell is where he might secure 2021 fantasy value, but he’s an end-of-bench stash type for now.

Latavius Murray | Free Agent RB

The Saints are releasing Latavius Murray.

While there was major smoke surrounding a potential Murray release this summer, it’s pretty shocking that it’s coming a week after roster cut downs. Perhaps Murray himself requested a release and hoped to land in a different situation (potentially in Baltimore), though. Tony Jones Jr. is now set to be the primary backup and complement to Alvin Kamara this season. Murray played well in two seasons with New Orleans, and he shouldn’t have much trouble finding a new team despite being 31 years old.

Qadree Ollison | Free Agent RB

The Falcons signed Qadree Ollison to the practice squad.

While Atlanta cut Ollison from the 53-man roster, they’re bringing him back as depth on the practice squad. Ollison is someone to monitor in very deep leagues, but he’s off the redraft radar i most leagues for now.

Chris Godwin | Buccaneers WR

Chris Godwin (quad) was added to the injury report.

Godwin was officially limited in today’s practice. It’s worth noting that Tampa Bay gave a few veterans rest days, so perhaps Godwin just isn’t quite at 100% and the team decided to take things easy on him—hopefully it’s not something that popped up during practice, anyway. We’ll see how Godwin is listed on the final Week 1 injury report for Thursday’s season opener when it’s released tomorrow.

Jake Browning | Bengals QB

The Bengals signed Jake Browning to the practice squad.

Browning spent the summer with the Vikings, but he’ll now land in Cincinnati with the Bengals. The former Washington quarterback might end up being a COVID emergency option for the Bengals this season, but he’s off the fantasy radar for now.
