Curtis Samuel | Bills WR

Washington is placing Curtis Samuel (groin) on injured reserve.

The groin simply hasn’t responded well for Samuel over the past several weeks, and Washington has opted to place him on IR, which will force him to miss at least three games. The hope will now be that Samuel will be ready to go when he’s first eligible in Week 4 after resting over the next few weeks, but we’ll see. Ideally, you’ll be able to stash Samuel on an IR spot in your league.

Nick Boyle | Free Agent TE

Nick Boyle (knee) will go on injured reserve.

Boyle is expected to play this season, but he’ll miss a minimum of three games while on the short-term injured reserve. Boyle is coming off a serious knee injury from last year.

Emmanuel Sanders | Free Agent WR

Emmanuel Sanders (foot) is questionable for Week 1.

The good news is the Steelers and Bills play in the early slate of games on Sunday, so the veteran receiver’s status will be known by 11:30 AM ET. If Sanders is out, Gabriel Davis would step into a larger role and would be an intriguing FLEX option even against a tough Pittsburgh defense.

9/10/21 - 11:24 AM ET

Keelan Cole | Free Agent WR

Keelan Cole (knee) will be a game-time decision for Week 1.

Cole popped up on the injury report yesterday and was limited in practice with a knee issue, and he’ll be a game-time call for this weekend’s season opener. The Jets will already be without Jamison Crowder (COVID), so hopefully Cole is ready to go versus the Panthers.

9/10/21 - 11:10 AM ET

Jamison Crowder | Free Agent WR

Jamison Crowder is out for Week 1.

Crowder remains on the reserve/COVID-19 list, and he’s been ruled out for Sunday against the Panthers. Second-round rookie Elijah Moore should be poised for a huge role immediately this Sunday.

9/10/21 - 10:52 AM ET

Latavius Murray | Free Agent RB

The Ravens are signing Latavius Murray.

This felt like a natural fit after the Saints released Murray earlier this week, and it’s especially a fit after Gus Edwards unfortunately tore his ACL in today’s practice. Murray will join Le’Veon Bell and Devonta Freeman as recent veteran additions in the Baltimore backfield, but he might be the best fit as a north-south runner.

Gus Edwards | Free Agent RB

Gus Edwards confirmed to tear ACL.

Edwards’ season is over, making him the third Ravens running back in just the past couple of weeks to suffer a season-ending injury. 2020 undrafted runner Ty’Son Williams will now lead the Baltimore backfield in Week 1 against the Raiders, and former All-Pro Le’Veon Bell looms as a potential difference-maker. This is a tough break for Edwards, who was poised to be in the lead role. The only good news is that Edwards at least signed a nice contract extension earlier this year. Edwards should be 100% for the start of the 2022 season.
