Join now >Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) is officially out for Week 2.
Jeffery practiced on a limited basis this week, but he was fully expected to miss this game against the Bucs. Jeffery needs to get cleared for contact before he can return to game action, so consider him week-to-week for now. He might have a shot to play in Week 3.

Darren Sproles (hamstring) is out for Week 2.
Sproles injured his hamstring in practice on Wednesday, and it led to him not participating at all in yesterday’s practice. Now the veteran running back will not play on Sunday against the Buccaneers, which should mean more work for Corey Clement. Both Jay Ajayi and Clement are options in Week 2 fantasy lineups, with Ajayi being the preferred option in standard leagues. Hopefully Sproles is ready to go for Week 3 against the Colts.

DeSean Jackson (concussion) did not practice today.
Jackson is in concussion protocol and has a few days to get cleared ahead of Sunday’s game against the Eagles. We’ll update you with Jackson’s practice status tomorrow. He probably doesn’t need any practice time to play on Sunday.

Hunter Henry (knee) was running sprints at practice today.
Multiple Chargers reporters on the scene say the third-year tight end was running around, which is pretty impressive considering he just tore his ACL about three-and-a-half months ago. Henry is obviously a long way from returning, but the fact that the Chargers placed him on the PUP list instead of injured reserve already hinted that they believe there is a very really chance he can play in 2018. Henry is not worth adding to fantasy teams, and he probably wouldn’t be able to play until the postseason, but this situation remains one to monitor.
9/14/18 - 01:48 PM ET
Jermaine Kearse (abdomen) was a full participant in practice.
After missing Week 1, the veteran receiver is ready to go for this Sunday against the Dolphins. Kearse will join the rotation with Robby Anderson, Quincy Enunwa, and Terrelle Pryor.
9/12/18 - 05:07 PM ET
Devonta Freeman (knee) will not play in Week 2.
Freeman didn’t practice all week, so this was fully expected. There was talk of Freeman being fine after missing the end of the season opener last Thursday against the Eagles, but it’s bad enough that it’s forcing him to miss at least one game. There apparently isn’t anything seriously wrong structurally with the knee, but it sounds like it could be a waiting game until Freeman is feeling better—and we’ve seen in the past that knee situations can be tricky. Tevin Coleman will now step up as a full-time player for the Falcons this week, and there’s a chance he handles 20 touches against Carolina. Rookie Ito Smith will work in behind Coleman. Coleman is in the RB1 mix despite a tough matchup with the Panthers.
9/14/18 - 01:36 PM ET
The Rams placed Pharoh Cooper on injured reserve.
Cooper was set to miss at least a few weeks, so this isn’t a surprise. As the Rams’ primary kick and punt returner, there’s a chance he returns after eight weeks as one of their two possible designated-to-return players.
