Virgil Green | Free Agent TE

Virgil Green catches two passes in team debut.

They went for 21 yards. The veteran tight end will probably be less involved as a receiver once Antonio Gates works his way back into a full compliment of snaps. Green isn’t a fantasy option.

Tavon Austin | Free Agent WR

Tavon Austin records one touch in Cowboys debut.

It was a one-yard carry in the second quarter. Austin had a big gain on the first drive of the game, but it was wiped out due to a penalty. The former first-round pick is off the fantasy radar.

Case Keenum | Bears QB

Case Keenum throws three touchdowns and three interceptions in Broncos debut.

It was a crazy Week 1 game (like many of the Week 1 games) for Denver against the Seahawks, but they came away with a 27-24 victory. Keenum was 25/39 for 329 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions in the win, with the touchdowns going to Emmanuel Sanders, Demaryius Thomas, and undrafted rookie running back Phillip Linsday. Keenum faces the Raiders in Week 2.

Rod Smith | Panthers RB

Rod Smith handles one touch in season opener.

Smith rushed once for five yards in the 16-8 loss to Carolina. He is just a handcuff that doesn’t need to be owned with the Cowboys’ offensive line looking vulnerable.

9/10/18 - 01:09 PM ET

Mike Williams | Chargers WR

Mike Williams plays well in Week 1 loss.

Williams caught five passes for 81 yards, which was actually fourth on the team with Philip Rivers throwing for 424 yards. The 2017 first-round pick should be owned in all leagues as a clear breakout candidate. He will look to keep it going next week against the Bills.

9/10/18 - 12:52 PM ET

Demaryius Thomas | Retired WR

Demaryius Thomas scores in Broncos’ win.

Thomas was target ten times by new quarterback Case Keenum, catching six passes for 63 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown was on a nice toe-drag catch in the end zone. Next week, Thomas faces the Raiders and should be a solid option in fantasy lineups as a clear top-two Denver receiver with Emmanuel Sanders.

9/10/18 - 01:09 PM ET

Austin Ekeler | Commanders RB

Austin Ekeler totals 126 yards and a score in Week 1 defeat.

Ekeler rushed five times for 39 yards, also adding five receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown. It’s important to note that the performance came in a high-scoring matchup against one of the league’s worst defenses, but there’s no denying that Ekeler looked good and will be a weekly part of the game plan. Even with Melvin Gordon III featured with 20-25 touches per game, the second-year back has standalone value. He gets the Bills next Sunday.
