J.J. Nelson | Free Agent WR

J.J. Nelson doesn’t catch a pass in Week 1.

The Cardinals didn’t have time to take many deep shots down the field, but it didn’t appear that Nelson received much playing time in the game. He’s off the fantasy radar for now.

Christian Kirk | Texans WR

Christian Kirk catches one pass in NFL debut.

Kirk gained four yards on his one reception (two targets). It was the first-career reception for the second-round rookie from Texas A&M, and probably the first of many. He also broke a 44-yard punt return that he nearly took to the house, and he appears to be a real weapon there. Kirk isn’t a fantasy option until the Cardinals show more offensively.

9/10/18 - 12:22 PM ET

Spencer Ware | Free Agent RB

Spencer Ware handles four touches in Week 1 win.

Ware rushed three times for 32 yards and caught an eight-yard pass. The highlight came on a 27-yard run, and Ware should continue to get a chance to make plays thanks to Andy Reid’s dynamic play-calling that uses a lot of pre-snap action to keep defenses guessing. Still, he is more of a handcuff to Kareem Hunt than he is a standalone fantasy option.

9/10/18 - 12:20 PM ET

Ricky Seals-Jones | Colts TE

Ricky Seals-Jones catches three passes against the Redskins.

Seals-Jones gained 19 yards on his three receptions (six targets). Nothing was really open down the field for the Cardinals in the game, and Seals-Jones is probably going to need big plays to deliver TE1 value.

9/10/18 - 12:20 PM ET

Larry Fitzgerald | Cardinals WR

Larry Fitzgerald catches seven passes in Week 1.

Fitz was targeted ten times by Sam Bradford in their first regular season game together, and he gained 76 yards on his seven receptions. Aside from Fitzgerald, David Johnson, and rookie running back Chase Edmonds, nothing really went well for the Cardinals in the game. Look for a bounce-back performance from the team in Week 2, and Fitz will remain a high-floor option in fantasy lineups.

9/10/18 - 12:18 PM ET

Kareem Hunt | Chiefs RB

Kareem Hunt contained as the rest of Kansas City’s offense goes wild.

Hunt rushed 16 times for just 49 yards and was held without a reception, and he didn’t get a chance to convert from the one-yard line twice, as Andy Reid called a couple nifty pass plays to get the ball in the end zone. Fantasy owners should expect a bounce back in Week 2 against the Steelers in the potential shootout, keeping Hunt in RB1 territory.

9/10/18 - 12:18 PM ET

Chase Edmonds | Free Agent RB

Chase Edmonds gets eight touches in NFL debut.

The rookie running back was the clear No. 2 behind David Johnson, just as he had been in the preseason. Edmonds had four carries for 24 rushing yards and four receptions for 24 receiving yards in the Week 1 loss to the Redskins. Edmonds has a role on offense, but he’s not a recommended fantasy option as long as DJ remains on the field.
