Join now >Jordan Reed scores in Redskins’ win.
Reed was targeted five times in his first game with Alex Smith at quarterback, catching four passes for 48 yards and a touchdown. The score came on a pass in the flat that Reed dove for and rolled into the end zone for the touchdown. A healthy Reed is a TE1 option for Week 2 against Indy.

Rob Kelley gets three carries in Week 1.
Kelley gained seven yards on his three rushing attempts. Kelley is clearly behind starter Adrian Peterson, so he does not need to be owned in fantasy leagues.

Chris Thompson breaks big plays and scores in Week 1 win.
Thompson looked just like he did before his fractured leg suffered last season, as he was dynamic in open field and broke multiple long runs throughout the game. Thompson had five carries for 65 rushing yards and six receptions for 63 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown. His seven targets led the team, as Alex Smith has no issues checking down and taking what the defense gives him. Clearly over last season’s injury, Thompson is a strong option fantasy lineups—particularly in PPR leagues, where he’s probably a must-start.

Adrian Peterson totals over 160 yards in team debut for the Redskins.
He received good blocking from one of the league’s best offensive lines, but Peterson got it done on the ground against the Cardinals, carrying 26 times for 96 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown while adding two receptions for 70 receiving yards. AD had a long reception of 52 yards, but he fumbled and lost it at the end of the run. Overall, it was obviously an outstanding Redskins debut for Peterson, who, as we’ve made clear, is not someone you should count out. Peterson is a good fantasy option for Week 2 against the Colts.

Alex Smith plays great in Redskins debut.
Smith picked up right where he left off with his MVP-caliber season with the Chiefs in 2017, as he smoothly operated Jay Gruden’s offense against the Cardinals. Smith was 21/30 for 255 passing yards and two passing touchdowns, and he also added eight carries for 14 rushing yards. He did fumble a couple of times but both were recovered by Washington. Smith was given very good protection from his offensive line, and he took what the defense gave him to help his team keep moving the ball and dominate time of possession (38:03). Smith is in the QB1 mix against the Colts for Week 2.

Samaje Perine was inactive for Week 1.
Perine was not listed on the injury report because of the ankle injury he suffered during the preseason, so he was apparently a healthy scratch to open the year. We still think Perine has potential, but he doesn’t need to be owned in fantasy leagues.

Darren Fells catches 12-yard pass in Week 1 tie.
It was his only reception of the game. Fells isn’t a fantasy option as Cleveland’s main blocking tight end.
