Join now >Jonathan Williams gets one touch in Week 1.
Williams, who was promoted from the practice squad ahead of the game, received one carry and gained zero yards against the Buccaneers. After Mike Gillislee’s fumble that was returned for a touchdown, Williams might be the second option behind Alvin Kamara in Week 2, but it’s difficult to trust him in fantasy lineups.

Ted Ginn scores in Saints’ loss.
Ginn caught five passes for 68 yards and a touchdown while adding a two-point conversion and a five-yard carry against the Bucs. The touchdown came on a 28-yard go route down the right sideline, with Drew Brees putting the throw on the money. Locked in as the clear No. 2 receiver for New Orleans, Ginn has FLEX appeal for next week against the Browns.

Mike Gillislee gets three carries in Week 1.
Gillislee gained nine yards on his three attempts, but he unfortunately fumbled, which was returned for a touchdown by the Buccaneers. The fumble might have cost Gillislee his backup role while Mark Ingram is suspended, but we’ll see what happens. It is a major risk to put Gillislee into Week 2 fantasy lineups.

Alvin Kamara totals three touchdowns in Week 1 loss.
Kamara picked up right where he left off last season, as the second-year back carried eight times for 29 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns along with nine receptions for 112 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown. Kamara also had a two-point conversion in the fourth quarter. Mike Gillislee received three carries behind Kamara, but one was a fumble that was returned for a touchdown. Don’t be surprised if the Saints give him the ball 15-20 times on the ground if they run the ball more in Week 2 against the Browns. Either way, Kamara obviously must stay in fantasy lineups as an RB1.

Drew Brees nearly leads Saints back in 48-40 Week 1 loss.
The Buccaneers put up 48 points on the Saints, but Brees nearly led a comeback with 16 points in the fourth quarter. Overall, Brees was 37/45 for 439 yards and three touchdowns, with his scores going to Alvin Kamara, Michael Thomas, and Todd Ginn. He also added a two-point conversion. Look for a more balanced offensive attack in Week 2, as it seems unlikely the Saints would play so bad defensively again when they face the Browns next Sunday.
9/10/18 - 07:46 AM ET
Chris Godwin scores to start the season.
The Buccaneers exploded for 48 points in their Week 1 win against the Saints, and the second-year receiver got in on the action with three receptions for 41 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown was on a mini comeback/back-shoulder type of route at the goal line, where he showed strong hands to pull in a contested catch. DeSean Jackson’s huge game (five receptions, 146 yards, two touchdowns) aren’t ideal for Godwin’s fantasy value, but he’s still an obvious breakout candidate in his second NFL season.
9/10/18 - 07:42 AM ET
Cameron Brate goes catch-less in Week 1.
Brate played against the Saints, but he didn’t catch a pass despite the Bucs putting up 48 points. Week 1 has been a weird week, though, and Brate will look to get back on track next week against the Eagles.
