Griffey had a tough task trying to make Pittsburgh’s stacked receiving room. The athletic son of Ken Griffey Jr. will receive interest from other teams.

The Bengals are signing Christian Hackenberg to the practice squad, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
Garafolo notes that Hackenberg has some experience with Bengals coaches Bill Lazor and Jim Hasslet, so this is a good spot for him. The former second-rounder will look to develop behind Andy Dalton in Cincinnati.

Kansas City has an extremely deep running back group, so it was a tough position to crack. Williams should land with another team.

The Chiefs have released wide receiver Jehu Chesson.
Chesson, a fourth-round pick just last year, hasn’t shown enough in Kansas City to survive his second training camp. He shouldn’t take long to resurface and could be a candidate for the practice squad if he isn’t claimed.

The Dolphins are signing Leonte Carroo to the practice squad.
The 2016 third-round pick was cut by Miami yesterday, but he remains with the organization on the practice squad and will continue to develop. He might be elevated to the 53-man roster at some point this season.
