Join now >The Giants are releasing Roger Lewis.
Lewis played well last season in an injury-riddled receiving corps, but he was low on the Giants depth chart this preseason. He’ll draw interest from other teams.

D.J. Foster suffers apparent knee injury against the Cowboys.
Foster just suffered the injury on a kickoff, and he was unfortunately carted off to the locker room after the injury. The third-year back was competing for a roster spot as a reserve running back and a special teams contributor, but it appears this could be a serious injury.

Matt Barkley suffered a Grade 3 MCL sprain, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Barkley was limping badly after suffering the injury in last night’s preseason game, and unfortunately it is a serious injury. Barkley was likely to be Cincinnati’s number two quarterback, but now he’ll likely be headed to injured reserve. The rules allow for two players to return off of IR, so maybe Barkley will be one of those players down the road.

Josh Rosen (thumb) is not playing in tonight’s preseason game against the Cowboys.
Rosen hurt the thumb on his right throwing hand during practice earlier this week, but it’s a big of a surprise that the rookie isn’t playing. Hopefully Rosen will be ready for this Thursday’s preseason game so he can get some more playing time ahead of the regular season.

The Panthers have released running back Kenjon Barner.
Barner tried latching on this summer where he started his career in 2013, but Carolina is going elsewhere at the position behind Christian McCaffrey. The 28-year-old should get looks on the open market as a running back and returner.

Saquon Barkley (hamstring) was a full participant in practice.
Barkley returned to practice in a limited capacity during the week, but it’s comforting to hear he’s now participating in team drills. New York’s prized rookie almost certainly isn’t going to play in the team’s final preseason game, but he should be 100% well before the season opener against Jacksonville. Barkley is currently being selected at the end of the first round in fantasy drafts, and he should be the clear workhorse ahead of Jonathan Stewart and Wayne Gallman.

The Vikings waived Cayleb Jones.
Jones has a four-game PED suspension and is dealing with off-field issues, so this was expected. Until his off-field situation is sorted out, Jones probably isn’t going to get signed by another team. Given the seriousness of the allegations against him, it’s possible he doesn’t play in the NFL again.
