Join now >The Ravens activated Nick Boyle (knee) from the PUP list.
This is good to see after Boyle suffered a serious knee injury last season. Boyle might not be ready for Week 1, but he’s making progress and figures to make his 2021 debut early in the year.

The Buccaneers are releasing Tanner Hudson, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Hudson caught three passes last year in Tampa Bay, but it’s basically a numbers game with O.J. Howard back to join Rob Gronkowski and Cameron Brate. The former undrafted free agent will try to get a shot elsewhere as teams shuffle their 53-man rosters.

Carson Wentz has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Because he has been wearing a mask on the sideline, it is believed that Wentz is unvaccinated, so this complicates matters further. It’s unfortunately yet another obstacle Wentz will have to overcome after basically missing all of training camp because of foot surgery; and with Colts head coach Frank Reich wanting his quarterback to get enough practice time before playing, it’s looking like Wentz might struggle to start in Week 1 given that he’s looks set to miss another chunk of practice time just as he was going to get back as a full participant. Hopefully Wentz is feeling OK and can rejoin his teammates soon, but Jacob Eason looks like the favorite to start for Indy in Week 1.

Marquise Brown (hamstring) has returned to practice for the Ravens.
Brown missed most of the summer with his hamstring issue, but he’s back in the mix exactly two weeks from the Ravens’ Week 1 Monday night game against the Raiders. “Hollywood” should be ready to go to open the season.

The Lions cut Breshad Perriman.
It’s felt like things might have been heading in this direction despite Perriman being signed this offseason to start at receiver with Tyrell Williams. The former first-round pick should draw interest from other teams soon.

Darius Slayton (foot/ankle) is out for the rest of this evening.
Hopefully this isn’t too serious and Slayton is just being held out for the remainder of the final preseason game as a precaution, but more information on his status should be available along with the Evan Engram news whenever it’s available. The Giants skill position group has been pretty decimated this summer.

Evan Engram leaves game with apparent leg injury.
Engram just went inside to the locker room, and it’s officially being called a calf injury for him. The athletic tight end was having a strong summer, so this is unfortunate with the regular season just a couple of weeks away. We’d say Engram is clearly in danger of missing Week 1—and potentially a few weeks depending on the extent of the injury. More information on his status should be available within the next couple of days.
