Richie James has been waived/injured.

James is set to miss several weeks with a knee injury, and he’ll go on IR if not claimed by another team. San Francisco will get one more look at the rest of the receiving corps in tomorrow’s preseason finale.

The Colts claimed Kahale Warring.

Indy’s waiver claim on Warring a few days ago failed, so it’s not surprising that they were able to secure him this time after the Patriots waived him. Frank Reich and the Colts like to use their tight ends, and Warring will join a deep position group.

The Eagles have released Nick Mullens.

The move corresponds with Philly acquiring Gardner Minshew from the Jaguars, as the team’s quarterback room is now set with Jalen Hurts, Joe Flacco, and Minshew. Mullens really struggled in preseason action this month, but we would expect he will get another shot to be someone’s No. 2 or No. 3 quarterback based on what he’s shown in previous years for regular season games.

The Jaguars are trading Gardner Minshew to the Eagles.

Philadelphia is sending a conditional sixth-round pick that can become a fifth-round pick, and the expectation is that Minshew will actually slide in as the No. 3 quarterback behind Jalen Hurts and Joe Flacco. It seems like a steep price, but Howie Roseman clearly still believes that the Eagles are a quarterback factory, and Minshew will develop under head coach Nick Sirianni. For Jacksonville, C.J. Beathard will be the backup for Trevor Lawrence, and they also have Jake Luton on the roster.

Antonio Callaway was released with an injury settlement.

Callaway can now sign with another team, but the talented receiver might have to settle for a practice squad spot to open the 2021 season.

Kerryon Johnson cleared waivers.

Johnson was released from the Eagles’ injured reserve with an injury settlement, and he’s now free to sign with any team. Johnson was placed on IR because of a knee issue and was termed week-to-week, though, so he’ll likely have to get healthy before he lands with another squad.

The Patriots waived Kahale Warring.

Warring had a short stay in New England after he was recently claimed by the team when Houston waived him. The Colts and Saints also put in claims on Warring the first time around, and we’d expect them to both be interested again.
