Join now >Rob Gronkowski is at Patriots minicamp.
As he said he would be, along with every player on the Patriots roster. Gronkowski arrives the same time as his quarterback Tom Brady, and the two are 100% healthy and preparing for another season together. Gronk is again the top tight end off the board in fantasy drafts this season, and he has as much upside as ever.

Tom Brady is at Patriots minicamp.
As was expected, Brady has reported to the mandatory minicamp after missing OTAs. The fact that he missed OTAs is a bit perplexing considering he’s talked in the past about how important every practice is, but he probably just wanted to spend more time with his family while he can. And Bill Belichick says he’s “always had a good relationship with Tom,” and the reported issues between the two don’t seem to be a legitimate issue. As usual, Brady is likely to be 100% locked in on football and ready to go as he prepares for his 19th NFL season. Brady’s age is not a concern, and he will be an elite fantasy QB1 again this in 2018.

Sammy Watkins says he’s been moving all around the Chiefs offense.
Watkins sounds like he genuinely loves his new offense, and he said he feels “great” right now. The former Bills and Rams receiver talked about how he’s not just saying in one receiver spot and dealing with double teams all day, instead getting more mismatches when lined up in the slot: “It’s just a great feeling because I’m not just sitting at the X receiver spot on the backside looking at two-man or a double. I’m really playing against a slot (cornerback) and getting an advantage on the linebackers, getting an advantage on the safety, and those are the things that I didn’t have access to (in the past), and now I do.” Watkins says he now has the whole route tree and is “starting to get that feeling back of being in college and being an all-around player.” Meanwhile, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid says he sees Watkins getting better every day and that his ability to catch the ball is “incredible.” No one is getting hit this time of year, but Watkins has made some crazy one-handed grabs through OTAs so far, and he’s probably quickly gaining the trust of quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs are paying Watkins like a top-tier wide receiver, so they’ll probably use him as such. If his draft position doesn’t shoot up in the coming months, he could be a steal in fantasy drafts this season. The only concern is that Kansas City’s offense has so many weapons to get the ball to that it could lead to some inconsistency.

Aaron Rodgers thinks Randall Cobb will have a good season in 2018.
Rodgers talked about how Cobb stepped up in a big way in the Wild Card Round against the Giants a couple of season ago when he had three touchdowns after coming back from a rib injury that caused him to miss three games. The Packers quarterback still sees Cobb as a key part of the offense and said “I look for a resurgence from him this year, as long as he can stay healthy.” With Jordy Nelson gone, Cobb is being counted on behind No. 1 receiver Davante Adams. Playing in an Aaron Rodgers-led offense, Cobb has 1,000-yard upside and could be a steal in the double-digit rounds of fantasy drafts.

Ron Rivera says Christian McCaffrey can get 200 carries this season.
The Panthers head coach was asked if he could hit that 200-carry mark despite having only 117 carries as a rookie last season, and he said: “Everybody forgets when he was in college he ran between the tackles more than anybody and he touched the ball more than anybody. So I don’t see why not.” That is a great sign for McCaffrey’s potential workload this season, and it lines up with what we have believed since he left Stanford for the NFL: McCaffrey can be a workhorse runner in the NFL, and the narrative about him being only a scat back is false. The addition of former Broncos running back C.J. Anderson took some of the optimism about McCaffrey’s potential breakout into an top-tier RB1, but it sounds McCaffrey might clearly be the main ball-carrier in Carolina’s backfield. Remember, he’s also put on more muscle this year and has a full offseason compared to a short one as a rookie last year as he prepared for the draft and finished up his quarter at Stanford. McCaffrey could be a steal in the late second/early third round of fantasy drafts this year.

Jets rookie tight end Chris Herndon was charged with driving while intoxicated, according to the Miami Herald.
Herndon reportedly crashed early Saturday morning and was charged with the DWI. Obviously, this is not a good look for the fourth-round rookie tight end, and he could be disciplined by the league for the incident. At the very least, he’s going to hear about his stupidity from the Jets. This isn’t a great start to the former Miami tight end’s NFL career, but hopefully he can stay out of trouble moving forward.

Packers head coach Mike McCarthy says the team will use a running back by committee.
With Ty Montgomery, Jamaal Williams, and Aaron Jones all in the mix as young players that have played well when given opportunities, this isn’t a surprise. When asked about Montgomery specifically, McCarthy said that they “definitely” have to take advantage of his skills, which are suited for the offense. McCarthy also said Montgomery has had “some incredible periods of play for us,” while then noting that the three backs have all had injury issues. Because Williams and Jones are entering just their second NFL seasons, paired with McCarthy’s obvious confidence in Montgomery’s skill set, Montgomery is the early favorite to lead the committee in 2018. Green Bay’s running back situation will be one of the big storylines to watch during training camp and the preseason.
