Join now >The Texans placed Taywan Taylor on injured reserve.
Unless he’s released from IR at some point, this would end Taylor’s season. The deep threat receiver is now off the radar in nearly all fantasy leagues. Houston’s receiving corps is working into form as the regular season approaches.

Luke Willson is retiring from the NFL.
Willson had just signed with Seattle yesterday, but he said he’s gone through some health issues this offseason, and he had decided to talk away from the game after getting back into the building. The veteran at least was able to basically retire as a Seahawk after spending the majority of his career with them, including being a part of the Super Bowl XLVIII team. Overall, Willson caught 111 passes for 1,307 yards and 11 touchdowns across eight seasons in the league. We wish him the best of luck in the next chapter of his life.

The Packers have placed Devin Funchess on injured reserve.
The veteran was said to be impressing as he hoped to crack a crowded receiving corps in Green Bay, but his season is over, and management could have some easier decisions to make when it’s time to finalize rosters. Funchess opted out last season and will now miss 2021 due to injury, but he still won’t turn 28 until next spring.

The Broncos have named Teddy Bridgewater their starting quarterback.
For some reason, it felt like things were trending this way leading up to and after the Broncos’ second preseason game. Former second-round pick Drew Lock has played very well this preseason and lit it up in the first preseason game, but Broncos defensive-minded head coach Vic Fangio ultimately may have just wanted to go with the safer guy at quarterback. Bridgwater takes care of the football, but he’ll have a very good supporting cast around him in Denver, which could help lead to fantasy relevance. Both Bridgewater and Lock probably became better quarterbacks during this close competition, and the Broncos will hope that translates to strong play from the position this season.

Adam Trautman (foot) believed to be dealing with one-to-three-week injury.
Nick Underhill reports that Trautman is seeing a specialist tomorrow, so the timeline could change. However, the thought is that Trautman is not dealing with a long-term injury. He can currently be considered questionable for Week 1.

Marvin Jones has a sprained AC joint.
Don’t expect the veteran receiver to play in the team’s final preseason game this weekend, but he should be ready to go for Week 1. Jones even tried to return to play with the shoulder injury during a preseason game a couple of nights ago, and it doesn’t seem like it’ll be something to hold him out to open the season.

The Bills have signed Steven Sims.
As expected, it didn’t take long for Sims to find a new home after being released by Washington, and he will hope to crack a crowded depth chart in Buffalo. Sims could get plenty of run this weekend in the preseason finale.
