Join now >The Cardinals have selected Fordham running back Chase Edmonds wth the 134th pick (fourth round) of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Edmonds is an excellent change-of-pace option for David Johnson as a player that can do a lot of damage in space with great quickness. However, Johnson won’t leave the field much for Arizona, so Edmonds doesn’t have a lot of upside as a rookie if the superstar starter stays healthy.

The Lions have selected San Diego State fullback Nick Bawden with the 237th pick (seventh round) of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Bawden led the way for Donnel Pumphrey and Rashaad Penny in his career, and he will now look to lead the way for Detroit’s backfield committee, which includes second-round pick Kerryon Johnson. Obviously, Bawden can be ignored for fantasy purposes.

David Johnson wants 1,500 rushing yards and 1,000 receiving yards this season.
Johnson spoke to Dan Bickley of Arizona Sports 97.8 FM and and said “my goal is 1,000 receiving yards and 1,500 rushing.” In Johnson’s dominant 2016 season, he ran for 1,239 yards and had 879 yards through the air, and before that season his goal was 1,000 rushing yards and 1,000 receiving yards. Johnson also told Bickley that he loves new offensive coordinator Mike McCoy’s offense, and DJ recently talked about getting 30+ touches per game. After acknowledging all the great young backs that have recently come into the league, Johnson said “I have to go out and show my dominance again.” As you would expect from a great player, Johnson sounds determined after he basically missed all of last season. If DJ comes as close to matching this goal as he did to matching his 2016 goal, he will obviously be well worth a very high selection in fantasy drafts this summer.

The Packers have selected Missouri wide receiver J’Mon Moore with the 133rd pick (fourth round) of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Moore is a big-bodied target with good ball skills on the outside. He could be an immediate starter alongside Davante Adams and Randall Cobb on a high-powered offense, so Moore is a candidate to make a year-one impact. He’s worth a late-round flier in fantasy drafts.

The Saints have selected UCF wide receiver Tre’Quan Smith with the No. 91 pick (third round) in the 2018 NFL Draft.
Smith was a productive member of the Golden Knights during the program’s emergence into one of the best teams in the country last season. As a junior last year, Smith had 59 receptions for 1,171 yards and 13 touchdowns—including five receptions for 89 yards against Auburn in the Peach Bowl win. Smith had a good showing during the Senior Bowl, and he did a great job at the NFL Combine including a 4.49 40-yard dash and a 37.5 vertical. The Saints appear set at the top three receiver spots with Michael Thomas, Ted Ginn Jr., and Cameron Meredith this season, but the long-term outlook for Smith is bright.

The Broncos have selected Oregon running back Royce Freeman with the No. 71 pick (third round) in the 2018 NFL Draft.
In college at Oregon, Freeman was extremely productive and is the school’s all-time leader in rushing yards (5,621) and rushing touchdowns (60). Early in his career with the Ducks, Freeman was a legitimate Heisman candidate and was seen as a potential future first-round pick. However, as Oregon declined as a college football power, Freeman was out of the spotlight a bit on a relatively below average team. Still, he has all-around ability as someone that can both run with power and catch the ball out of the backfield, and Denver is a good landing spot for him after the team cut C.J. Anderson a few weeks ago. It’s possible Freeman competes with Devontae Booker and potentially De’Angelo Henderson for the starting running back job in Denver; and if the rookie Freeman winds up being the starter, he could be one of those under-the-radar running backs that make a big impact in year one.

Rob Gronkowski: “I’m definitely going to look at my future.”
After the Super Bowl LII loss to the Eagles, Gronk was asked if he was considering retirement, and he said “I don’t know how you heard that,” and went on to say that he’s going to look as his future and “sit down the next couple of weeks and see where I’m at.” This certainly sounds legitimate, though Gronkowski could just be frustrated after coming up short in the Super Bowl after all the hard work he and his teammates put in all year. Also, Gronk has an injury history that is likely taking a toll on his body, he already has two rings, and he is a lock for the Hall of Fame as perhaps the greatest tight end in NFL history. However, the All-Pro started getting on Tom Brady’s TB12 Method last year, which is designed to keep him healthier, and he must know the team has another great shot at a championship next season. Hopefully we see Gronkowski back on the field, but you can’t blame him if he decides to call it a career.
