Cook is nearly seven months removed from his torn ACL last season, and Vikings head trainer Eric Sugarman says the second-year running back “has knocked the rehab out of the park.” Cook admitted it’s been tough at times but that Sugarman and the training staff have helped him attack the rehab process. The hope is that Cook will be full-go for training camp, which would be ideal. Minnesota is fortunate to have Latavius Murray also in the mix in the backfield, and there should be no rush to get Cook back on the field in a full capacity—his long-term health is more important. Cook’s progress will be a storyline to watch leading up to the season.

The Eagles have selected South Dakota State tight end Dallas Goedert with the No. 49 pick (second round) in the 2018 NFL Draft.
On the heels of Jason Witten’s expected retirement, Philadelphia moved up three spots to jump ahead of Dallas and select Goedert before their division rivals could. The Eagles used multiple tight end sets a ton last season on their Super Bowl run, but tight end Trey Burton signed with the Bears in free agency and the team released veteran tight end Brent Celek. At South Dakota State, Goedert had a ton of production, going over 1,100 yards in each of his last two seasons. He’s someone that can stretch the field and make spectacular catches, and he is a good compliment to Zach Ertz for the Eagles. Goedert might end up being a better real-life producer than fantasy producer as a rookie, and he’s only a recommended option in dynasty leagues right now.

Jimmy Graham is expected to receive interest from the Saints in free agency.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero says Graham and the Seahawks are expected to part ways, and that the Pro Bowl tight end will have interest from “a bunch of teams,” including the Saints. Considering Graham had a ton of success during his five years in New Orleans to start his NFL career, and the Saints haven’t had great production from the position since he left, this seems like a natural fit. Many have also connected the Texans to Graham, too, and the Saints might need to pay a good amount to get the 6’7″ red-zone target to come back. Graham is one of the biggest fantasy-relevant players to watch when free agency begins next week.

The Seahawks have selected Florida International quarterback Alex McGough with the 220th pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
Seattle was often connected to Houston’s Kyle Allen throughout the pre-draft process, but they instead go with the little-known McGough. The small-school signal-caller only started six games in 2017, throwing for nine touchdowns and seven interceptions, and he had a career 57:36 TD-INT ratio in four years at FIU. He will look to earn a roster spot in camp behind Russell Wilson this summer.

Rob Gronkowski says he doesn’t plan on attending voluntary offseason workouts.
Gronk was asked at a press conference for Monster energy drink and Supercross why he wasn’t at the previous workouts, and the tight end said he was dirt-bike riding. He was then asked if he planned on attending the workouts and said “no,” adding because he’s dirt-bike training. There is video available in the link below, and it didn’t appear Gronk was too happy giving the answers. He could have just been annoyed with the questions, but maybe there really is some friction between he and Bill Belichick. We would expect that if there are any issues, they will be worked out and Gronkowski will be a Patriot in 2018.

The Cardinals have drafted Texas A&M wide receiver Christian Kirk with the No. 47 pick (second round) in the 2018 NFL Draft.
Arizona could have stayed at No. 15 in the first round and drafted Kirk, and not many people would have questioned it, so this is a great get for them. The Cardinals are expected to have a lot of competition behind Larry Fitzgerald on the depth chart, and Kirk could be a big part of that. Kirk is nicknamed “Baby Beckham”, as he has a similar play style to Odell Beckham Jr. and has the versatility to play both inside and outside; and while he’s not the biggest guy, Kirk plays a lot bigger than his size. He also adds a lot of value in the return game, as he can take punts to the house (he averaged 22.0 yards per punt return and had six touchdowns in three seasons. As a rookie, Kirk should have some late-round value in fantasy drafts as someone that could immediately be on the field in a big role.

Tom Brady puts in legendary performance, but Patriots fall in Super Bowl LII.
Brady did his part as he attempted to lead the team to its sixth Lombardi Trophy, but the Eagles made enough plays in the end to prevent the G.O.A.T.’s masterful performance from resulting in another title. Brady was 28/48 for 505 yards and three touchdowns, as he navigated the pocket and made a ton of plays on passes down the field. In the first half, Brady had an opportunity on a trick play that would have resulted in a first down, but he couldn’t quite come up with a pass from Danny Amendola that went off his finger tips. In the second half, Brady led his team to 21 points, and it looked like he would lead his team down the field for a game-winning touchdown with a couple minutes left in the game. However, Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham made the defensive play of the game, forcing a turnover by getting to Brady up the middle and forcing a fumble on Philadelphia’s only sack of the game. Brady’s 505 yards are the most in Super Bowl and NFL postseason history, and it was another case of him showing up on the game’s biggest stage. Next season, Brady will be 41, but he’s shown throughout the years that he gets better, not worse, not matter his age. He’ll be in contention for the top fantasy scorer in 2018, though he might be ranked lower by some that are afraid of him potentially regressing with age—which we do not think will happen.
