Join now >The Saints have selected Louisiana Tech running back Boston Scott with the 201st pick (sixth round) of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Scott is a relative unknown, but Sean Payton clearly has something in mind for him. The five-foot-seven back is extremely elusive and ran a 4.40 at his Pro Day, so perhaps the Saints envision him as security for Alvin Kamara. We know Payton isn’t afraid to play multiple running backs, so an early role for Scott can’t be discounted. That said, Kamara and Mark Ingram definitely aren’t leaving the field too often, so Scott is just a name to keep an eye on in dynasty leagues.

Willie Snead is signing an offer sheet with the Ravens, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Snead of course is a restricted free agent. Schefter says that it’s a two-year deal worth up to $10.4 million, so it would be a surprise if New Orleans—who signed former Bears receiver Cameron Meredith and re-signed Brandon Coleman already—matched the offer. The Saints will have five days to decide, though, so we’ll see what they do. As for Baltimore, they have totally revamped their receiving corps this offseason, and another piece could be added very soon. This could indicate the Ravens aren’t really in on signing Dez Bryant.

The Patriots have selected Georgia running back Sony Michel with the No. 31 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
While the Patriots have a stacked running back depth chart at the moment, there aren’t better spots for Michel to land than in New England. Michel is the third running back off the board after Saquon Barkley (Giants) and Rashaad Penny (Seahawks). He is a versatile player that should contribute immediately for the Patriots, but his playing time might come down to how well he pass protects—if he doesn’t keep Tom Brady upright, it’s going to be difficult to remain on the field. It’s possible Michel leads the New England backfield this season, in which case he would obviously have big-time fantasy upside. In dynasty leagues, Michel has huge long-term potential and is probably the best option outside of Barkley.

Nelson Agholor plays great as Eagles win first Super Bowl in franchise history.
With Malcolm Butler benched for New England, Agholor didn’t have to contend with Patriots cornerback in the slot all game. The third-year receiver received a team-high 11 targets, catching nine passes for 84 yards. while also adding one carry for nine yards. He worked as a reliable target for Nick Foles throughout the entire game, including on the go-ahead drive toward the end of the game, picking up key first downs. The third-year receiver showed the type of ability that made him a first-round selection in 2015, and he’s someone that can build on his breakout year. The Eagles would be wise to feature him along with Alshon Jeffery and Zach Ertz in 2018, and he’ll be one of the better selections later in fantasy drafts this summer.

The Titans have selected Washington State quarterback Luke Falk with the 199th pick (sixth round) of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Falk was potentially a Day 2 pick in a tier with Kyle Lauletta and Mike White, but all three signal-callers ended up going on Day 3, with Falk sliding all the way to the middle of the sixth round. It’s a bit surprising, as Falk is accurate with good touch, but Mike Vrabel is able to get tremendous value for his long-term backup for Marcus Mariota. Falk’s toughness was probably something Vrabel and the Titans loved about him, and he will be a good fit in the quarterback room with Mariota and Blaine Gabbert. Obviously, he isn’t a fantasy option in 2018.

The Giants are releasing Brandon Marshall, according to Kimberly A. Martin.
Martin says the team informed Marshall that he will be released today. This comes just days after Marshall stated on Instagram that the team had room for only one veteran receiver, acknowledging former Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant’s interest in joining the Giants. After Marshall’s release, it would not be surprising if something went down between Bryant and the Giants soon. Marshall’s lone season with the Giants, which was cut short after a season-ending ankle injury in October, ended with 18 catches for 154 yards in five games played. We’ll see if the 34-year-old wants to continue his playing career somewhere else.

The Seahawks have selected San Diego State running back Rashaad Penny with the No. 27 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
This is the biggest shock of the first round, as Penny is the second running back off the board after Saquon Barkley was selected No. 2 overall by the Giants. But the Seahawks, who have had trouble at running back over the last few seasons, apparently identified Penny as a guy that could help turn things around. The production in college was there for Penny, as he led the FBS with 2,027 rushing yards and was a Heisman candidate for much of the season, but this pick is still surprising to most with Nick Chubb, Sony Michel, and Derrius Guice all on the board. Because of the draft pick used to bring Penny into the mix in Seattle, he could potentially have a huge role as a rookie. The Seahawks running back situation will be one to watch leading up to the season, and Penny might be right in the middle of the competition.
