Join now >Rex Burkhead gets four touches versus Philadelphia in Super Bowl LII.
Burkhead had a series where he was given consecutive carries and did some damage on the ground, and overall he had three receptions for 18 yards and added a 46-yard reception on a screen pass that it looked like he was going to take the distance until he was just caught from behind. In his first season with the Patriots, Burkhead showed he is a versatile weapon both on offense and special teams. He should certainly have a role in 2018 and could end up putting up bigger numbers offensively if he can stay healthy.

The Colts have selected Northern Iowa wide receiver Daurice Fountain with the 159th pick (fifth round) of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Fountain was a surprise Combine snub in February, but he was great in the showcase games leading up to the draft. The small-school product has good size and can make some downfield plays—which he could have a chance to do quickly with the receiver-needy Colts. He could be worth a late-round flier in fantasy drafts as a potential year-one contributor across from T.Y. Hilton.

Willie Snead reported to Saints workouts today, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Snead is a restricted free agent that hasn’t yet signed his tender, but he is still showing up to the first day of offseason team activities. The workouts only consist of strength, conditioning, and rehab, so there isn’t much concern about an injury; but it’s good to see Snead show up despite apparently falling out of favor in New Orleans. After the Saints signed former Bears receiver Cameron Meredith, Snead is no better than fourth on the depth chart, so his fantasy value would probably be higher with another team. Other teams are free to sign Snead without the Saints getting any compensation if they don’t match it, but nothing has come together for him yet.

The Giants selected running back Saquon Barkley with the second pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
After the Browns passed on quarterback Sam Darnold with the first overall pick, there was some thought that the Giants might take him as their future franchise quarterback. Instead, they have opted to select the best player in the draft and one of the greatest running back prospects of all-time in Saquon Barkley. The former Penn State star will immediately step into a huge role in the Giants offense, joining Eli Manning, Odell Beckham Jr., Sterling Shepard, Evan Engram, and others in a very talented group. As a rookie, Barkley will have a ton of scoring upside in what could be a much improved offense in 2018. He’s a no-brainer RB1 selection in all fantasy drafts this summer.

The Colts are not planning on re-signing Frank Gore.
The veteran running back will hit free agency at the start of the new league year on March 14, as Colts GM Chris Ballard wants to get younger at the position. Gore spent three seasons with Indianapolis, providing leadership and setting an example for the younger guys on the roster despite the team not competing like he thought it would when he signed with them in 2015. Gore had over 960 rushing yards in each of his three years with the Colts, including 1,025 yards in 2016. He’ll be 35 next season, but Gore is an ageless wonder that has shown he still has the ability to contribute deep into his 30s. There will be teams interested if he wants to continue playing.

The Vikings have selected Central Michigan tight end Tyler Conklin with the 157th pick (fifth round) of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Conklin is a solid, all-around tight end with a game similar to Kyle Rudolph, so it’s easy to see why Minnesota took him in the fifth round. He has a chance to immediately step in right behind Rudolph on the depth chart, but again, tight ends rarely put up significant numbers in the box score as a rookie. There are probably better options to target at the position in dynasty leagues.

The Bills signed wide receiver Jeremy Kerley.
Kerley last spent time with the division rival Jets, but he was suspended four games last season and couldn’t regain a role in the team’s receiving corps. Buffalo has one of the most wide-open receiver depth charts in the NFL, so it’s possible Kerley carves out a role there. He’s not a recommended 2018 fantasy option at the moment, though.
