Join now >The Jets signed tight end Bucky Hodges.
Hodges was selected by Minnesota in the sixth round last year, and he also spent time on Carolina’s practice squad. The 6’6″ former Virginia Tech tight end will compete for a roster spot with the Jets for 2018, and he might be able to carve out a nice role for a tight end position that does not have an incumbent starter.

Tarik Cohen hopes to play a Tyreek Hill type of role in the new Bears offense.
New head coach Matt Nagy was the offensive coordinator for Kansas City the last two seasons, so he oversaw Hill’s first two NFL seasons. Cohen told the Chicago Tribune he always brought up Hill when coaches would ask him who in the NFL he would compare himself to at last year’s combine, and the second-year back thinks he can do “the same kind of things [Hill] does in the Kansas City offense.” While they play two different positions, Hill could probably play full-time running back if he had to, and Cohen could probably play split out full time if he had to. Hill is 5’10” while Cohen is 5’6″, but they are both around the same weight, and they might be the NFL’s two most dangerous players in the open field. While he won’t be involved the same exact way as Hill with the Chiefs, the bottom line is Nagy should find a way to get Cohen involved in 2018, even behind likely workhorse running back Jordan Howard. He’ll be someone to watch throughout the summer as a potential big-time fantasy scorer this season.

David Johnson (wrist) has been fully cleared.
The Cardinals have started their offseason training program with Phase One today, and their star running back is 100% ready to go. Johnson was expected to be ready for OTAs in May, but he’s unsurprisingly exceeded expectations and is already full-go. DJ is basically one of those freak athletes that are just different than most people, and it’s great to see that he’s 100% and will have a full offseason. Cardinals GM Steve Keim and new head coach Steve Wilks have made it clear that a strong offensive line is critical, and they are going to establish the run game with Johnson to complement their strong defense. Johnson will be a great selection in the top five of fantasy drafts this summer.

Kirk Cousins will hit free agency.
The Redskins just traded for Alex Smith, so obviously Redskins won’t be back with the team in 2018. The Browns, Broncos, Cardinals, Jets, and potentially Jaguars are among the teams most likely to be interested in Cousins, though there could certainly be some mystery teams in the mix. When Cousins hits free agency, it’s possible he surpasses Matthew Stafford’s record-breaking $135-million deal, but Cousins has stated winning is more important than money.

Robby Anderson has had his felony arrest charges from January dropped, according to Andy Slater.
Anderson was facing several charges from the January arrest in which he allegedly did 60 MPH over the speed limit and then threatened the police officer who arrested him, but Slater says Anderson now only has one misdemeanor count of reckless driving. It could have been a lot worse, but the Forward State Attorney told Slater there was “insufficient evidence” for the other chargers. Still, the ordeal is a concern, and Anderson, who has previously gotten in trouble with the law, could still be facing NFL discipline.

Odell Beckham Jr. indicates he won’t play in any preseason games this year.
A fan on Twitter said “Zero preseason snaps please” in response to a “The Giant Insider” tweet saying there’s a huge year coming up for the star receiver, and Beckham quoted the tweet and just wrote, “0”. After Beckham suffered a high-ankle sprain in the preseason last year, and then suffered the season-ending injury on the same ankle in the regular season, it sounds like he is going to sit out the entire preseason for at least 2018 if he has his way. The contract situation of OBJ could have a lot to do with it, as he’s currently on the last year of his deal and probably wants long-term security before he even thinks about playing in exhibition games. While it’s easy to see where he’s coming from, the Giants brass might not be happy with one of their best players seemingly stating on his own that he won’t be playing in the preseason. Until an extension is signed, Beckham’s future with the Giants is no lock.

The Raiders signed Dwayne Harris.
After Oakland traded Cordarrelle Patterson to New England a few weeks ago, Harris gives them an ace special teamer to help anchor the unit. Harris might step in as the team’s kick and/or punt returner, but at the very least he’ll contribute on kick and punt coverage. The Raiders might also get the ball in Harris’ hands on offense some, but he’s not a recommended fantasy option.
