Join now >Eli Rogers (knee) says he’s ahead of schedule in his recovery.
Rogers went into detail on the injury suffered in the AFC Divisional Round game versus Jacksonville, saying he was totally surprised when an MRI the next day revealed the torn ACL and some meniscus damage. The 25-year-old receiver is clearly attacking the rehab process, pushing the envelope and setting high goals. Rogers says he “should be ready by camp,” which would be quite the accomplishment after just suffering the injury on January 14. Due to be a restricted free agent, this is great news for Rogers, who the Steelers would probably like to have back as a reliable member of the receiving group.

The Vikings are signing wide receiver Kendall Wright, according to NFL Network.
Wright had 59 receptions for 614 yards and a touchdown in his lone season in Chicago last year, and the former first-round pick of the Titans will attempt to carve out a role as one of Kirk Cousins’ top targets in Minnesota. Wright is likely to push third-year receiver Laquon Treadwell as the team’s third wide receiver, and it’ll be an interesting battle to watch leading up to the season. If Wright ends up as the number three behind Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs, he’d have some upside in deeper PPR leagues.

Andrew Luck is “very close” to throwing, according to NFL Network.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo report Luck is working with throwing gurus Adam Dedeaux and Tom House, who have worked with a number of throwers in both baseball and football including Tom Brady. Rapoport says Luck is “finishing up getting his strength back,” and it sounds like he is almost to the point of rehab that will allow him to throw the football again. With Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels set to take the Colts head coaching job after the Super Bowl, everyone is fully expecting Luck to get back to where he was and be 100% for 2018. Hopefully throwing goes well for Luck when he gets there.

The Browns signed wide receiver Jeff Janis.
Janis is a 2014 seventh-round pick of the Packers that spent all four of his NFL seasons in Green Bay. The 6’3″ receiver caught 17 passes for 200 yards and one touchdowns in his four seasons, and you might remember him coming up clutch with a game-tying Hail Mary at the end of regulation in the 2015 Divisional Round against the Cardinals. Janis will compete for a roster spot and potential offensive role for the Browns.

The Dolphins will cut TE Julius Thomas, according to Armando Salguero.
Salguero says the team will cut Thomas by the start of the league year on March 14, so it’s just a matter of time. Thomas had a disappointing season after being acquired from Jacksonville last offseason, and it appears he’ll be heading to his fourth team this season. The announcement of Thomas’ release is likely to happen soon.

The Bills are signing wide receiver Kaelin Clay.
Clay spent the beginning of last season with Buffalo before the Panthers claimed him off waivers in October. Clay flashed potential with Carolina last season, and he received a good amount of playing time towards the end of the year. He’ll have an opportunity to carve out a role leading up to the season, and his contributions on special teams give him a boost.

Blake Bortles underwent right wrist surgery last week, according to ESPN.
Bortles popped up on the injury report with the wrist injury at times this season, but he didn’t miss any action because of the issue. Adam Schefter says the issue started in December 2016 but that the Jaguars opted to not have Bortles get the surgery. Now that he’s had the surgery, hopefully it means Bortles is better because of it moving forward. Bortles should be fine for offseason training, and he’ll certainly be ready for training camp if not.
